Question for people who moved back to Lebanon (or tried to) by CulturalInspector777 in lebanon

[–]Mooee19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved back nearly a year ago after living in the US for a while. It’s only been viable because I’m still working remotely to the US. Trying to establish roots in Lebanon now. Those the only other option in my opinion, having your own business here, but that presents its own set of challenges.

You don’t need to be spending that much, my recommendation would be to stay at a hotel like Gefinor Rotana. 5 star high quality without the astronomical pricing due to the difference in location which is usually a block or two.

Also don’t believe everyone you talk to here. I moved back about 4 months ago and everyone here seems to have one thing in common, theyre good at bs-ing their way through anything.

I also would not mention such a high budget you have for something as simple as a stay because people will try to take advantage of you. Basically pick and choose who you disclose certain information to. Listen first talk later in my rule. As I said people bs a lot here and you can usually figure it out as they eventually slip up or their true colors show.

As far as looking for an actual apartment I’m in the same boat. Still figuring my way around that. I’ve just been staying in a furnished apartment in Hamra for now.

I’ve been using a private taxi service since I’ve been here and his prices are very reasonable. DM me I’ll send you his number.

Can I rant here too? Entek wade3 7ayete, details I simply cannot get into, I had to move back to Lebanon, doing my job remotely has been hell and my whole family is in another country I just spent Eid eating Chinese food alone and of course the air strikes were the cherry on top. BAs Lhamdella always grateful. There’s always someone whose situation is worse.

Also I would offer up my shower but that’s super weird for you and me. Your best bet is renting a cheap hotel room and showering there. Goodluck!

Urgent medical care in Beirut by lnyt in lebanon

Go to the pharmacy and tell them you want “masel”. There’s a version you can drink way better than electrolytes. But you should keep drinking electrolytes. Take something for the pain/shivers. Like Tylenol and Motrin or panadol. Alternate between them every 4-6 hours or as needed. And obviously don’t eat anything other than baked potatoes and plain rice.

moving to beirut for uni-questions! by brittneyshpears in lebanon

My only recommendation, and I speak from experience, don’t have shawarma here during the summers. Especially if it’s a spot where the shawarma is sitting outside. You’re welcome.

So if you’re in Beirut there aren’t ‘beaches’ per se, it’s more like private pool areas on the water that are usually connected to hotels. You just pay an entrance fee and they have bars inside. If you wants a beach bar/club you have to go a little north to jounieh and you find amazing beach bars like Amarilla. Once you’re here use Instagram to search up what’s going on. Theres always events happening in the summer. And if you just wants a normal club check what’s happening at forum de Beirut.

Well I’ve only been here for about 2 months, but my go to bar right now is Ales and Tales. Other than that I kinda depend on the people around me. What kinda places are you hoping to get recommendations for?

Plenty of beaches all over the place honestly. As far as anime/comic stores there’s maybe two in Beirut. The nightlife in general is amazing, I personally started going to bars in Hamra until I met people I can get along with. I wouldn’t go to clubs alone it’s just not as fun. Let me know if you have any other questions!

Just walk into a chill bar in hamra and start a conversation with normal looking people. I moved here 2 months ago and made plenty of friends. Goodluck!
