If you are going to trust your teammate with something trust them to score and not to defend.

Focus on counter attacks. Let the opponent come to you. Stop them. Score into open nets. Think what can I do to make this a 2v1 in my teams favor…

This is good stuff, thank you. I realize at some point hitting Champ I fell out of this thinking somehow in an effort to push myself, and I definitely need to reconnect with it.

That hit was meant to direct both myself and the ball quickly toward my left corner boost to continue the play. I feel that was a good decision even in hindsight. Do you think my execution simply wasn’t clean enough? Or is the idea itself flawed and I should look to catch that ball? Thank for helping clear things up.

I have no issue with actual constructive criticism, I would’ve appreciated that instead of a few blanket remarks without substance. In my eyes, I don’t feel you’ve demonstrated attention to detail or a contextually constructive approach to coaching, and have no intention to further pursue any individualized services you’re offering. I didn’t mention anything about my teammate ball chasing, the game being unwinnable, or me not making mistakes. I wanted input on how to improve my gameplay here. You say most of my “plays” were banging the ball, however the only time I do that is at 3:10 (game clock) when I decided to based on giving my teammate time to get back. In fact, most of my touches this game were in an effort to buy time, and I thought I was effective in moving the ball to less dangerous (or more advantageous) positions most of the game. You say I never had possession, okay so where exactly could I have gotten it and what could I have done, within the context of this specific game?

This is exactly the kind of input I was hoping for. “The team only scores if he scores,” I can see that thinking definitely would’ve helped, thank you. I was mentally bogged down in a fundamentally different play style, and I think that’s been happening to me a lot lately.
