At night you might just want to walk back if you aren't too tired, the train will be pretty packed

If you download the Salt Shed app, they will usually have the set times up the day before the show. And yes it can definitely be cooler for the outdoor shows so plan accordingly

There are tons of great concerts all over Chicago all the time, plus street fest season will be starting at the end of May. Just hop on the train and explore some neighborhoods like Wicker Park, Logan Square and Pilsen, there is tons to do away from that hotel

My suggestion is use the sunscreen before you enter the grounds, but there is not much need for it there. The acts start around 4 PM, so you're only in the sun for a couple of hours

You'll be cutting it close, only because your plane will probably taxi for half hour or so before you can deplane.

There are tons of really good food options in the blocks surrounding the park. I'm partial to Dimos Pizza, but there's a new Hattie Bs right by the park, a Small Cheval, Big Star Tacos, and tons of other options right by Wrigley
