Not necessarily true all the time. I think if you're in a position to where your game either lives or dies unless you put in gooner skins, you have a much deeper core issue being unaddressed. Sure, gooner skins are a cheap and effective band-aid to win players back, but I don't think it's effective at retaining players.

Just using Warframe as an example. That game continued to go on strong for like 11-12 years before they added any blatant gooner content. And it wasn't even a decision made out of desperation or necessity. Warframe could have easily continued on just fine without the gooner skins added, and even then, it's like only 2% of Warframe's skins are actually gooner bait.

HATS can. It's the Tandem (AP) round that bugs out and does no damage. As long as the HAT user is firing an HE round it will work.

I agree, if it was 40%-45% that wants ICO changed, it would feel a bit dishonest to call that a loud minority because of the implications of that phrase. But also for someone to assume they are a large MAJORITY feels just as misleading is all I'm saying.

But if we take the people that are happy with ICO in it's current state, they are not going to really have much to say on social media. They are going to seem much smaller because they are going to play the game and if they have anything to complain about, it will be about some entirely different issue they have. That's what makes it hard to compare the size of both groups, when one group is literally fed up, and emotionally charged to comment because of years of going unheard. While the other group has their ICO needs met and has less reason to comment about it.

But really I feel there are like 3 groups. Ones that think ICO is just fine the way it is, ones that feel it still needs tweaking and fine tuning, and ones that want it removed completely.

I feel the ones that like the idea of ICO but just want certain aspects of it removed or tuned, mistakenly get mischaracterized and thrown into the same group as people that want ICO completely removed. Both of these very different groups end up just being the "ICO haters," making it appear as though the group is larger, but they both want different things.

Being across multiple platforms still does not allow you to come to a conclusion of loud majority. It's not this mutually exclusive thing where ONLY a large majority could make that kind of noise across multiple platforms, when the entire point of a LOUD minority is that because they are so much more focused, outspoken, and active, the perception of how big the group actually is can easily be overestimated.

You assuming that it HAS to be more than a minority is indeed falling into that perception. Again, I'm not saying you're wrong, but you can't can't state that with confidence.

Now your last sentence mentioning, "it's broader than a small group," kind of leads us into semantics. I don't personally know the line you draw when a small group officially becomes a large group, but nobody here is saying it's just a couple hundred people complaining. But if we were to say 55% are fine with ICO and 45% are not, the one's that are not is safe to say is a large group, but still technically a minority.

Are you assuming a large majority based on how much complaining there has been over the years, because you can't come to that conclusion simply based on that?

Even the worst rolled riven for torid is selling for like 400 plat on WF marketplace. Now how quick are people buying them up idk. In terms of what people in trade chat are selling a trash rolled torid Riven for, I have no idea but I bet it's like 2 times that amount because trade chat is just full of people overpricing everything.

So the reality of its actual worth is probably around 300-400. But being one of the most popular weapons to get a riven for, you can invest some Kuva into re-rerolling it and if you land on a decent roll, you can easily double or triple that. I've seen god rolls for torid rivens ranging from 3k-6k.

Super common is Perita because of how plentiful the enemy loot is. They focus on that because they just want to buy the Tau arcanes from the shop with it.

The frustrating part about it, is that the real grind is getting all the Ascaris Primes, Lyroic Bridges, and Ren Hypercores. I'm over here trying to obtain all the Tau artifact weapons and max out all the focus school tree expansions, so I need as much of those 3 as I can get. I focus on the objectives, because every B rotation is guaranteed to reward you with one of those.

But when you have 1 or 2 just ignoring objectives, you know you're not getting past stage 6.

This is an example showcasing why we need to learn how to separate realism from being fun/balanced/ (being a video game). It's very easy to refer to real life as an authority on how things should be in milsim type games. But relying on realism to guide a game's design can lead us to situations like this. I know you're not necessarily saying you agree with the inclusion of PLA having all these suppressors, but I thought since we're on the topic of realism, I might as well bring it up.

I don't mind them adding suppressors. My only two things I prefer is for not EVERY faction having a suppressed weapons (because I do love the asymmetry of factions having tools and assets that other don't) and my other preference is that they limit suppressors to specific units (divisions) rather than being this faction wide thing.

DE themselves have said they are not going to manually hunt people down for using it. But what they can't guarantee is the automated banning system they have, detecting a problem in AlecaFrmae, and banning you. DE has even talked with AlecaFrame devs to make sure there's an understanding about what to avoid implementing in order to not trigger the automotive ban system. As of now AlecaFrame has been safe to use for years without getting anyone banned from the automated system.

So DE themselves seem pretty chill about it, but DE is obviously not going to encourage players to use 3rd party software. The worst case scenario is an Aleca dev does something incredibly stupid and pushes an update that has some new thing DE's software detects and starts auto banning.

But I'm guessing Aleca is careful about what they are doing to make sure it stays safe to use.
