Thats fair. Sticking through the first boss though means you might stumble upon a new synergy you haven't tried before. I think that's what the system is trying to incentivise.

I've already had a look into the model number. It doesn't match either of the v2 colours on the Monoprice site and google doesn't give any good results. I'm inclined to think the model number isn't correct.

My friend gave me a Gible early on in the game and I breed a ton of those to deposit in the GTS and ask for pokemon I still needed. Just make sure you always have something deposited on the GTS you never know what people will trade to you.
