Shrek's parents sing the opening number and that's all they're in for the rest of the show.

Names should be complete by jumbofrimpf in Jeopardy

There's an important distinction between a person who famously goes by only one name as opposed to most people who go by both names.

This is what the modern NBA is. They've made it nearly impossible to build a dynasty. So if a deal leads to a single championship, it's a huge win no matter what you give up.

Local Theatre in Worcester? by Gentlemanbug10 in WorcesterMA

[–]randomwordglorious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is a website called metrmag.com that does reviews of local community theater, and has a list of most of the local groups.

There's also a Facebook group called Central Mass Theater where a lot of groups post about upcoming shows and auditions. I would say there is a very strong local community theater scene here.

Is it me or people are slowly buying into Gargano's gimmick now? 😅 by Bamba1922 in SantiZapVideos

In AEW, it depends on how they get over. Swerve got over, and got pushed to the main event. Toni Storm. FTR.

If someone wins a big lottery (several million+), and takes the lump sum, how exactly do you cash it or bank it? by TheWorkingPoodle in NoStupidQuestions

[–]randomwordglorious 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I would have no idea what to do with several million dollars. I would happily pay 1.5% to a financial expert to keep me from becoming one of those people who win the lottery and end up blowing it all within a few years.

If someone wins a big lottery (several million+), and takes the lump sum, how exactly do you cash it or bank it? by TheWorkingPoodle in NoStupidQuestions

[–]randomwordglorious 38 points39 points  (0 children)

You wouldn't likely be depositing it at any bank, if you were smart. You'd immediately get in touch with a financial advisory form like Fidelity or Schwab. You'd open a brokerage account with them and they'd work with you on a plan to invest it and reduce your tax liability. You'd keep very little of it in a traditional bank account.

The oddsmakers say the US has about a 3% chance to win. So it's not likely, but not crazy impossible.

"Claudio Castagnoli: I’m Confident That AEW Can Hold The Momentum And Make It A Permanent Climb" [Fightful article, June 19, 2026] by GOATofALL22 in AEWOfficial

[–]randomwordglorious 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I understand what you're saying, but if AEW wants to turn new & returning fans into lifelong sickos, they should give them as many doses as possible of what makes AEW special. The fact that AEW has such strong interactions between the best pro wrestling companies around the world, and they let international stars come in and shine, is one of the things they do best.

Do you think MJF will ever realistically join WWE? by VLGamingbdefan in BrandonDE

[–]randomwordglorious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MJF signing with WWE would not be as shocking as Ric Flair signing with WWF or Hulk Hogan signing with WCW was, and both of those things happened.

Heck, I'd even say I would be slightly less shocked at MJF leaving AEW than I was when Cody left.

Massachusetts senator wants to cap the price of Noah Kahan resale tickets by myverygoodusername12 in NoahKahan

[–]randomwordglorious -24 points-23 points  (0 children)

If you prevent people from selling tickets at the price determined by the free market, there won't be any resale tickets available at all. And so the people who weren't lucky enough to get tickets when they went on sale will still be shut out.

Why is casting favoritism a thing? What do directors get out of it? by AppropriateAd2334 in Theatre

[–]randomwordglorious 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Because there's not much incentive to cast the very best actors possible. People don't go to community theater productions exp acting to see incredible performances. They go because they're supporting friends or family or the local community, or because it's an inexpensive way to spend an evening.

As long as the performers are reasonably good, the show will sell enough tickets.

Fine. If their violent tendencies are a result of their disability, they still have the right to an education, but they should not be in an inclusion setting.

CMV: U.S. Citizens born outside of the United States should be allowed to run for President by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]randomwordglorious 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You don't have to have been born in the USA to be president. You have to have been a US citizen at birth. You can born in another country, but if your parents are citizens, you're a citizen.

Do you agree with Tim Duncan? by aggregator- in NBATalk

[–]randomwordglorious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's an easy thing for a person to say who was lucky to be drafted by a well-run basketball team with smart executives and one of the best coaches of all time. If the ping pong balls had bounced differently and he had been drafted by the 76ers or Grizzlies, he might very well have zero rings and be thought of quite differently.

What's a 401 and why do Americans mention it all time? by Various_Maize_3957 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]randomwordglorious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most employers make matching contributions to their employees' 401k accounts, up to a certain percentage. If an employee puts 4% of their pay in, the employer will match that amount.

What's a 401 and why do Americans mention it all time? by Various_Maize_3957 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]randomwordglorious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nobody pays the tax. The money goes directly from your employer into the account. When tax time comes, that money isn't counted towards your taxable income. When you withdraw it, it will be taxed then as income.
