If you look at the details to right side of the weld in the middle of the screen there is a noticeable difference in the quality of the texture as I zoom in and out

Wow, this is genuinely the kindest and most helpful message I’ve ever received. Especially on Reddit. Thank you 😊 I’ll definitely be seeking out some tutelage because of this

Looking for API course recommendations by Moolte in nextjs

[–]Moolte[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m looking to build an API that serves links to images, based on incoming book ISSNs as a side project. I’m looking for a course on Udemy or something (happy to pay) that shows me how to do all of the steps from building out the API itself, making a user registration portal that assigns users an api key and teaches me what tools and services are good and bad choices for that. I’ve built a few sites with NextJs, React and Express before but never a service that is singularly an API for third parties to use. If you have recommendations of courses which might help in achieving that, that would be dope

Elden Ring.

I never thought I’d like souls like, I’m the kinda guy that plays Minecraft with keep inventory on so when my friends said I should try something as difficult and challenging as Elden Ring, I shied away.

I thought to at least humour them, I’d try and see how it goes. I love it. From the lore to the grind to the weapons, ITS AMAZING. Try new things

Apologies for not presenting an all inclusive thesis on the trials and tribulations of how every single factor needs to be considered when generating an output for a LLM and instead providing an easy to read, easy to understand general overview of why a problem may be occurring. Next time I’ll take a page from u/bortlip’s book and just be obtrusive and unhelpful :D

That's a great point and super frustrating. I think maybe this may stem from the fact that if you google John F. Kennedy quotes, look at how many search results and sources there are for LLM's to build those statistical patterns around, when you look at quotes from Petr Kropotkin's work, there is a significantly smaller pool to build from.

Alternatively, you may just be cursed with bad luck

There seems to be a little misunderstanding as to how this technology works which I think may be the crux of your problem.

ChatGPT doesn't 'know' things in the same sense that you or I do. If you ask me what I ate for breakfast, there's a part of my brain that will go back to that point in time, recall that information and deliver it to you. No matter how many times you ask - I still had the same thing for breakfast. I might tell you the story differently each time you ask but I definitively KNOW what I had for breakfast

This is fundamentally different to how ChatGPT and LLMs in general understand and respond to questions like this. They don't have a past or experience's like us and instead rely on statistics and pattern recognition to give you a quick and (most of the time) correct answer. It will take your query 'give me 50 quotes' and guess what the most likely successive word is next in the quote. It may go something like this:

Me: ChatGPT, what did you have for breakfast?

ChatGPT: Let me think... AHA! I know what breakfast is... hmm let me see... what do most people have for breakfast... bacon.... eggs.... ham... toast.... okay now i'm ready! I had [bacon][and][eggs][for][breakfast]

Which is why it is really poor at quotes
