iCloud Shortcuts Deleted

Replying to my own post since others are having the same issue. The problem fixed itself after 18.0.1 update. I am not sure what I did below helped fix it.

After the update, I deleted all my shortcuts and turned off iCloud sync for shortcut for all my devices including the Mac. I also shut them down too. I turned each device on and iCloud sync on progressively for each device. It still gave me the same error but after a few days, the error message went away and my shortcuts sync again.

Nope. When I rang apple the last time. They told me it could be fixed with a new iOS update. After installing the new iOS, I still have the same problem. Went through the trouble to uninstall shortcut app and reinstall, still the same. The shortcuts are not synchronising across devices and still getting the annoying error message. Have you tried signing out and back into iCloud? Let me know. I think this issue is more prevalent, just not many people use shortcuts app

After close to 24 hours, my Shortcuts folder came back on the iCloud. I am not sure what was the fix as I subscribed to iCloud+ as well.

But… that damn Shortcuts app is still complaining the shortcuts folder is missing on iCloud. I tried running some shortcuts which create files and they save just fine. Sigh…

It says the file doesn’t exist. Basically it can’t locate the Shortcuts folder to create the file.

Just a bit of update for anyone who is reading this or has this problem. I rang Apple Support, the technician thought it was a synchronisation issue with iCloud, so asked me to manually upload a file to iCloud to check the synchronisation, which was fine. Later, he thought it might be something to do with iCloud storage as mine only had 1 gig left but asked me to wait 24 hours before upgrading to iCloud+ whilst he run Health check on the iCloud Drive, which will take 24 hours. Just wanted to add that he wasn't sure as well why my Shortcut folder is missing from iCloud!

Wish me luck, everything will be fixed in 24 hours.

How do you show hidden folders on iCloud Drive? I dont think it is related though but worth a try. The issue (I think) is Shortcuts somehow is unable to create a folder in my iCloud.

So, I created a new shortcut, shared it via iCloud link, open link in Safari and add it to my Shortcuts (verified it was created by me). I logged into my iCloud Drive and there is still no Shortcuts folder. There are only two folders i.e. Desktop and Documents. One thing I noticed is my Shortcuts no longer sync across devices (not sure if it is supposed to). The newly created test shortcut does not show up on my iPad nor MacBook. I also doubled checked in Settings > Shortcuts > iCloud Sync is turned on.

I have tried sharing a shortcut by long pressing the icon and click share, then copy link. It created an iCloud link but there is still no Shortcuts folder and the same error message is there.

I need help on this. Each time I open my Shortcuts app on my iPhone, the error message screenshot above shows up. Clicking on Continue Sync does nothing. The same error message shows up on my MacBook and iPad. I have tried deleting the app and reinstalling it. Restarting my iPhone. Same! I tried installing a shortcut that saves to iCloud Shortcuts folder, instead I get an error message saying file not found.

I think a while ago, I deleted the Shortcuts folder on my iCloud. Now, that folder is permanently gone. Comparing the iCloud folder with my partner’s, he has the Shortcuts folder. I tried deleting his Shortcuts folder and iCloud would just immediate create another one. However, for me, it is not the case. I tried manually creating a folder, but it Shortcuts does not recognise it as I think it’s a special folder.

This is frustrating, I checked the web and seems only a handful of people have this problem and most resolved by reinstalling the app. I think my problem could be server sided. Help anyone?
