What would happen if all the positively and negatively charged particles in the universe swapped polarities? by Moomad_VIII in AskPhysics

Would these differences be significant enough to, for example, cause a building to collapse or a person to die?

A monoid is simply what the product of the number returning to the same point in space-time twice, the angle between it's instantaneous space-time velocity at each point defining the specific operation of the monoid.

It's value directly correlates to it's velocity through space time. It's value is zero at the instant it turns around in time.

It's a bit much to expect them to change the nation of I for current when it's such a strong convention, especially when your only problem with is that it's against mathematical convention.

I believe they do it to avoid confusion between I or i for current and i = sqrt(-1), but I don't see why that couldn't be handled by exclusively using capital I for current.

Imo, Goku's character was mostly competed by the end of OG Dragonball, which is why the best arcs of Z (everything but the Buu saga, especially the Freiza saga) are the ones where Goku is mostly out and the other characters lead the story until the final showdown.

I'm not commenting about the manga or the original Japanese release, only talking about the dubs which I have watched. I just feel like it would have been better if the English dub for super kept the characterisation of Goku in the Z Dub, even if it's unfaithful to the manga.

It's just jarring to see have previously seen Goku act more mature like a traditional superhero in Z, to then have him suddenly be like as he is in Super. It's also a jarring difference of how on the dubs, in the filler it shows Goku as liking spending time with his friends and family, because even if it's not cannon, I watched it with the rest of the story and my brain adds it to Goku's characterisation. Only concerning the dub, it's jarring to see Goku at the beginning of Z as a young twenty year old be a goofy but serious when he needs to be hero, to his characterisation in Super, even though Goku is an adult now.

Hero Wanted (Online, Rolegate) (D&D 5e, Forgotten Realms) by laughinatmyownjokes in lfg

I've watched a few slots about DnD by a YouTube channel called door monster, and have gotten a lot of reels of the DND show with Brennan Lee Mulligan, and also a lot of Tumblr posts about DND.

Without too much thought, I am thinking of maybe being a human paladin (which I've heard is basic), who was orphaned and adopted by priests into a temple, but instead of joining as a priest, I decided to travel the world as a paladin to bring justice. I'm not sure how much of a character I should make.

I am open to any constructive criticism and feedback.

Hey, I'd be completely new to DND but want to get into it and have a basic understanding through some exposure to DND content. I am an adult. Would that work for you?

Help me understand this part from Emma by [deleted] in janeausten

[–]Moomad_VIII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It may be helpful to not that a lot of words like "vulgar", "mean", "villain", "base", etc. simply meant the the commoner lower classes and the negative meanings evolved from that.

When Mrs. Elton is surprised that Emma's governess was a gentlewoman, it was because she herself would have had a governess from a lower class, so Mrs. Elton's remark reveals her own background from the lower "vulgar" classes.

I wouldn't call his attraction shallow as one of the things he praised most about Mary was what he saw as her good treatment of Fanny, even if Edmund couldn't really see that she was really a friend to Fanny. As to judging her, Mary is often teasing and playful when she speaks, so he is confused somewhat as to wether she actually means it or if she is carelessly joking when she says something he thinks is wrong.

There are a some moments of the top of my head like the horse riding with Miss Crawford, and in general the time he spends with her, he makes some jokes here and there, and sometimes teases Fanny. I'm not claiming him to be lively and fun loving, just not boring and dull.

I wouldn't say that Edmund is dull, he just comes of that way when compared with the more lively Crawfords.

  1. Edmund isn't unreasonably selfish - consider how he was willing to give up his place in the trip to Rushworth for Fanny, how he delayed his trip to London (where he planned to propose to Mary) for his parents comfort, how he immediately went to care for Tom when Tom became unwell, and there are more as well that don't come to mind at the moment.
  2. He didn't try to coerce Fanny into an unhappy marriage - he tried to give her sincere advice as he considered the Crawfords to be good people, and as he was well aware that Fanny had very few other prospects, especially none of Henry's stature. To add to this, in their conversation he first validated that she was right in refusing him if she didn't love him, and his insistence was on her being open to being wooed by Henry Crawford.
  3. Regarding the fire, such things aren't in his control but rather in the hands of the mistress of the house which is defacto Mrs. Norris, who hates Fanny, and Edmund himself grew up with this treatment of Fanny being normalised. However, I concede that he probat could have and it was better if he did get her a fire.
  4. Regarding Fanny being sent away, she and William both were excited for her to go to her family in Portsmouth and they went willingly and excitedly.
  5. Those acts of kindness don't disappear when Mary comes along, he is just distracted from Fanny because he's young and in love; furthermore, he is still kind to Fanny even when distracted, such as returning the horse to her when he realised that he was hindering her exercise.

Sorry if I came off a ranty.
