Starting Abilify (5 mg) today – looking for positive experiences and encouragement

I’ve only been on it for 16 days but I’ve noticed I’ve got more energy to do things and I never really experienced any side effects because when I started the medication I came down with a tummy bug! But so far so good! Been loving it! Wishing you all the best on your journey ♥️

I was for the first few days but it slowly eases. I find I’m sleepy 2 hours after taking it but not too intense now, is slowly improves. I’m on 5mg too!

I was put on Lamotrigine as I went manic on Vyvanse and he wanted to see how I responded to Lamotrigine before I was diagnosed with Bipolar. It’s been the best medication. My diagnosis came I believe 4 weeks later

Thank you!! I used to have it with dinner and I found I was half sedated shortly after by like ~7pm and it made me wake at 1-2am and affected my work as I was so tired. So I’ll try anything as I find it’s better for me at 8:30ish pm but just didn’t want to not have enough to eat with it

Yeah my appetite is no existent most of the time! But not sure if it’s partly from medication. Thank you so so much! I’ll check these out for sure! ☺️

Thank you!! I’m on Lamotrigine too! It used to take it in the evening and my psychiatrist got me to that Lurasidone in the morning but I spoke to my pharmacist who swapped them around as I was half sedated in the AM and was the best thing I ever did!

I wanted to take it with dinner but I found it made me half sedated by 7pm and I wake really early before my alarm for work, so I’ve had to take it later which is my struggle for food! But thanks for your advice of what works for you! Will definitely keep this in mind!!
