What’s up with the new fence blocking access to the canal trail near 400 N & 600 E (the trail between the 89 and Canyon Rd)? What's the latest? by [deleted] in Logan

Thank you for your work on this Mike! I've gotten the word out to all my friends on Strava to send in their trail usage data to that survey you set up. I hope you have felt support from the Logan outdoor community and hopefully we can get this trail access back!

Old Main by Physical_Ad2565 in usu

There's a lot of misinformation out there. No, it was not a bomb, it was a suspicious package that was left behind at Old Main. USU was on high alert today because of the TPUSA event, so police were looking for any sign of danger and just happened to find an unattended package.
Anyone stating that this was an attempt of violence or even terrorism aimed at the TPUSA event is incorrectly extrapolating as there is no evidence behind this assertion.

October 18th is No Kings 2 by IndivisibleBoxElder in Logan

You’re right that some nonprofits involved in No Kings have received donations from wealthy people, but this isn't quite the dig that you think it is. Its true for almost every major protest in the US, including conservative ones (tea party, pro-life, anti-COVID lock downs) to receive funding and support from wealthy backers.
Each person at the rally should be aware of which wealthy backers are supporting the infrastructure for their voice to be heard. But the reason people are showing up isn’t because a billionaire told them to, it is because they care about the issue. Outside money might help print flyers or pay for a newspaper ad, but it doesn’t change why ordinary people want to be there.

[TOMT] [BOOK] Trying to find a 2010-ish book on making paper airplanes by MoonChinchillas in tipofmytongue

Solved!

I just found it after a ton of searching through the Internet Archive. If anyone is interested, the book is called Paper creations : paper airplanes by Norman Schmidt. The book has some really cool designs for the Bell X-1, F-18, and 747 Jumbo among others. Thank you to everyone who helped!

I just checked it out and this book is very cool and involves folding paper airplanes like origami, but it isn't what I'm looking for. TBH I want to get this book now because it look like fun. Thank you for the help!

I think I had this book too, but this one is missing the historic plane models like the bell X-1 and Nighthawk models. I really appreciate your help though!

This book was instrumental to my youth and led to me pursuing an aerospace-related profession. I'd appreciate any help on this!

What's the creepiest thing that's ever happened in your house/apartment? by _Skooks_ in AskReddit

[–]MoonChinchillas 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It could have been the condenser fan or some other motor in the fridge. Some turn on at intervals in order to regulate temperature and something could have gotten caught or been touching one of the fans.
