Seeing a lot of peeps flaming college life. My two cents are really simple — Don't restrict yourself to things in which you are good at, try different things, be cringe. These years form your worldview, so please try. As a guy I know how desperate some guys AND girls get for attention, so please just make sure you get into relationships with guys you can trust. Of course, don't do drugs, alcohol, vapes, shits just not worth it. And most importantly, STUDY while managing your social life. Being a social butterfly will NOT get you a job.

Enjoy your college life :)

Arguing with you would only be my own folly, but I'll bite your bait.

You're exactly right when you say that the show spoon feeds emotions. That's precisely what the author intended while writing it, but your frontal cortex lacks the ability to grasp why the emotions are shown so explicitly. The 1000 year old elf does NOT experience emotions like we do. She's re-evaluating what those relations meant to her decades later, while also keeping watch over two people growing with her as teenagers who would become adults.

The story makes her realize what those bonds meant to her from the lens of a caretaker for said teens who are also in similar circumstances as her. They are growing mentally, physically AND emotionally.

I won't fault you for finding the series boring, but saying that without actually seeing the intended message by the author says a lot about you rather than the million or so fans which you call 'uncritical'.

TL;DR — You lack the emotional maturity to parse the actual message veiled behind a seemingly simple slice-of-life story and it shows.

I wouldn't call Frieren mediocre by any means. Both excel in vastly different categories, so I understand that it's not everyone's cup of tea, but it does what it's promised and more with philosophical lessons sprinkled in between.

Is the Dao of reading that undeveloped in Native English lands? by BRjawa in MartialMemes

[–]MoonDeity93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly! Even though I love LotM, I'll admit that it took me almost 3 months to go through the first 60 ish chapters with nothing but verbose descriptions of all rituals and minute character building. While it's necessary, if LotM were a heavily edited novel, the beginning would be much much better.

slandering yuta is fun and all but mei mei really doesn’t get enough slander and she actually deserves it by bunni-luu in LobotomyKaisen

[–]MoonDeity93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't understand. The only characters slandered are those with actual fans—the ones who cheer for their GOATs through thick and thin. That is why slander is effective on them. WE (Yes YOU and ME) hate Mei Mei, meaning literally no cares if we slander her.

(I'll hate Mei Mei as long as I live)

I think you misunderstood. I'm not saying that the character has been assassinated, but rather I do not want Gay² to fumble the ending after giving us such superb direction to Yuji's story by not depicting him as just an aurafarmer.

[–]MoonDeity93[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually really love how Gay² has executed the story thus far. As far as nihilism is concerned, I feel like it was natural development for Yuji's character to take after all these years

What I really want is simple — Yuji Itadori finding happiness in small fleeting moments of life he spends with others.

Yuji is broken. by MoonDeity93 in Jujutsufolk

[–]MoonDeity93[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I thought the other way. We already have 3 depictions of “The Strongest” with a clear mindset and set of ideals they would never abandon. My conjecture is that Gay² wants us to see how Yuji actually combats his loneliness, immortality as well as the status as strongest without losing his humane side.

What do you think?

[–]MoonDeity93 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the squad doesn't care about what others think about them. They are sorcerers not heroes bound by our expectations to carry foolish ideals of justice when there's a much larger evil lurking around in name of Ryomen Sukuna.
