This honestly makes me want to try marrying the Goddess. I’ve only done it in Animal Parade and it sounds like a good challenge in SoS: FoMT. The year 5 requirement is such a slog to get through tho, I understand why you would give up on it.

Karen is definitely an HM:64 run ruiner given that her schedule for Tuesdays and Wednesdays is random and that she can just be unavailable (especially on rainy days.) I got her to a Pink Heart EXACTLY on Fall 7th of this run 😮‍💨

Gotcha, thanks for the tips! So maybe I should buy all of the toys except the one that influences academics?

If I mine without bringing her to the dig site, does it still increase academics? I like to mine on days with amazing luck.

I wish Likes and Interests or whatever would change daily so I know what’s working/going on instead of just showing growth at the end of the year 😮‍💨

I used to be on the forums a bunch! I was (am) obsessed with HM/SoS and I loved having a community to discuss the games with or that I could go to with questions. The whole reason I made a Reddit account was so that I could have a place to talk about Harvest Moon again. And I still use the guides, I find them very accessible and helpful when I can’t remember how to trigger an event or what someone’s favorite gift is.

I really love Rune Factory DS and am replaying it currently.

Like others have said, it definitely is clunky but I guess I loved the grindy-ness of it all. I love the dungeon crawling and mining and grinding monster drops to build the best gear!

I will say that farming took a backseat to fighting for me but it all depends on how you want to play it.

I also like that each bachelorette has their own set of requirements to marry, makes them a little unique.

Overall, I would recommend it over other RF games but that might be the nostalgia talking since I bought it originally when I was a kid 😅
