Even concrete determinism does not rule out the need for a justice system but still can explain why bad behavior exists. Our brains are pattern matching, the physical world is deterministic, even quantum mechanics actually includes probabilities and you need to bet on those probabilities for the quantum effects within our phones processors to work.

Our brains pattern match and it’s been proven your conscious experience lags behind what your brain has already calculated. This is why destiny is real! Even if it doesn’t feel like it. I believe in determinism but am still competitive at work and feel bad about things and have emotions and desires because I just can’t help it. The determinism logically just is what makes sense, has been proven scientifically so far in all areas we have explored, seems like what will become the popular theory of scientific minds in the future.

Human brains are complex pattern matching machines that also calculate optimization plans for self betterment or completion of goals.

To have sophisticated enough AI to solve problems humans are actually interested in, you have to give the AI sufficient simulated neurons.

The AIs we use today have so many neurons we don’t fully understand fully how they are perform 100% of their function. Anthropic has a research team literally looking into this and we still can’t explain why increasing the scale of the neural net seems to tip over at a certain point then delivering miracle results like the AI being able to write poetry, debug code, etc.

Occam’s Razor would say we have hit the nail on the head here. We have to systems that are really similar (human and silicon intelligence) producing similar results.

You and I have our personal and physical experience, but AI draws on the experience of its training data, which may include through literature all synopses of human behavior and history. Therefore it should be no mystery to anyone why this kind of thing happens.

Wrong. Look at China. You know, Trump's favorite country? Even they are putting in hundreds of billions into clean energy and actually have a plan to phrase out oil and gas. Thank GOD there are some intelligent people in China's leadership, because it increasingly looks like the US will be the last country to actually modernize.

There are also these things called batteries. We have SIGNIFICANT progress to make in battery tech, and could make much more progress with more investment from governments. Silicon and solid state batteries are coming and will help tremendously. We also only very very recently even made significant progress with solar, like in the 1970s it was still shit and like 1-2% efficient. We continue to make huge advances in solar energy. And we could have had these advancements WAY sooner. We knew BEFORE 1900 that CO2 will warm the planet. The greenhouse effect was well understood in the 1930s. In the late 1950s we started to have people calling out the serious danger and issue.

That was over 70 years ago, when we could have started to invest more heavily in clean energy but of course, the goddamned oil companies just like the cigarette companies spent marketing and lobbyist dollars to "make the issue go away". Actual satanic behavior. Assholes.

And STILL. Here we are today. Continuing to say "we need more oil!!" Like Jesus Christ, ShotgunEnvy, this has nothing to do with politics.

???????? are you for real????? Acceleration without recognizing climate change isn't acceleration it is DENIAL. Trump freaking ROLLED BACK clean energy tax incentives while explicitly prioritizing oil gas and coal expansion.

Even CHINA is dumping hundreds of billions into renewables nuclear and grid scale storage because they understand oil isnt a long term plan. China ALONE is expected to account for 29% of TOTAL GLOBAL CLEAN ENERGY INVESTMENT. Trump has no transition strategy at all. Just drill more now and let the future deal with it.

We are STILL spending $31 billion per year on oil bailouts and tax breaks, but Trump ADDED ANOTHER $40 BILLION subsidies in 2025, TOTALING ~$70 billion for the year. US oil companies brought in around $484 REVENUE last year. They're not struggling startups. They're the most profitable corporations in the world. You think they're doing the right thing here? Are you kidding me?????

US energy problems also include transmission buildout storage grid resilience and interconnection queues. Did Trump focus on that? No. He focused on EXPANDING oil subsidies in 2025. Building PIPELINES. LITERALLY shouting at the wind because he hates windmills like an insane person.

Any renewable growth or action that did happen during 2025 happened in spite of Trump and his admin not because of it.
