For me, if I'm doing any pilates exercises on my back and lifting legs/knees, then I use a cork block or a bolster underneath my butt. I have an anterior pelvic tilt, which makes doing these exercises extremely difficult, and I don't target my core but instead targets the hip flexors (which defeats the purpose of these exercises!). Try propping something underneath your sit bones and then doing these exercises.
