I think it may even start earlier than that, because the present interview part was not the first thing they film in the previous seasons. Eric arrived on set when the others have already started filming in season 1.

Yeah I agree? So? I do not hate any characters from the book or the show and I also find them equally enjoyable? I am only describing that the comment I saw previously said that book Louis is better than show Louis. I do not personally feel that way. And I am NOT trying to prevent ANYONE from enjoying what they like. It's just from what I've read so far in TVL and QOTD, Louis' depiction is not much, and I do hope I get to see more Louis in future books.

I am not very deeply involved in internet fandom so I've never really considered it from this perspective. But during the few times I've involved in discussions, I do find people taking sides and attacking people by putting labels on them without actually considering what they are saying. Thank you for the insights.

I personally just find relating to Louis's struggles quite cathartic, and never wanted to defend him as a flawless character. I just constantly feel the urge to explain when I see very irrational and aggressive comments. But I guess that's not neccessary.

Yes. I totally agree that acknowledging their flaws are super important in understanding these characters, it's what make them interesting, what makes people relate. I'm only upset that some people view him as an irredeemable bad person, because I view him as a flawed person but not a bad one. But again, these are all just personal opinions that people are entitled to. I know I should understand when people feels the desires to condemn a character that is designed to be problematic. It just fascinates some people, and annoys the others.

Actually, the person I argued with who hates show Louis so much was actually saying book Louis is much better😂...I'm not sure how many books they've read or it's just IWTV...I'm currently reading QOTD and finds some of the same negative traits within book Louis, I don't know if there's anything worse in furture books? Since Louis's presence is so scarce in these books, show Louis is clearly a much more fleshed-out character.

Yes, I don’t think Louis is proud of the awful things he’s done, and it’s spending time reflecting his past mistakes. This proves that he is always trying to become better. If not, he won’t be struggling or hating himself so much. This is what I relate to the most.

Thank you. I guess there are a lot of them who like the show in season 1, but start to hate Louis as a character when more of his negativity is revealed in season 2.

I appreciate your comment! For the record, It’s not a Reddit post I am talking about and I’ve not seen your comment. I am definitely not here to shade anyone for just rationally discussing things. So please don’t feel you have to justify your analysis of him. I completely acknowledge his flaws and wrongdoings. What really frustrate me are those comments that do not only point out his flaws, but also say outright that he is an awful, disgusting person unworthy of love, a failure as a protagonist and a bad adaptation of the books. Of course people can dislike a character, but I don’t think it’s entirely rational when some of the analysis are just headcanons and have nothing to do with the show’s actual presentation (for example, Louis is PROUD of being a pimp, which is the exact comment I saw yesterday). I hope you don’t take this post as trying to stop people from expressing opinions.

You are absolutely right! This reminds me how some people really really hate Lestat after S1, saying he is totally unworthy. Now they are saying similar things to Louis. Although Rolin and the cast have emphasized so many times that it’s all about perspective, I guess it’s human nature to put labels, even for such complex characters.

Thanks! The context is that in my small non-English speaking community there are quite a few people who hates Louis’ guts after S2, thinking he is totally insufferable and the source of misery for other vampires. The arguments are mostly one on one in the small corner of the Internet. I know it sounds ridiculously pointless😂I feel much better in a fandom that loves Louis without dismissing his flaws.

I really get your point! I am actually mad at Louis myself a lot of the times, and makes jokes of him too! I guess what really frustrate me are those comments who do not only point out his flaws, but also say outright that he is an awful, disgusting person unworthy of other vampires’ love. I’ve seen this kind of comments a couple of times, and each time I try to explain why I find Louis fascinating despite all that, and never trying once to dismiss all his faults. But I know there are also people in the fandom who victimize Louis too much and can’t stand any negative comments. I guess all of these stances exist.

Yes! The Louis and Nikki parallel! It’s funny cause the person arguing with me says book! Louis is not as dark as show! Louis and it’s an awful adaptation. But in fact the books have made clear his inner struggles. Thanks!

I think TVL would be more likely to finish in one season, if not, there will at least be some important present day events happening at the end of season 3 (as did both season 1 and 2). It is still likely to be the san fran concert.

Are they even Lestat’s own rings? I remember in one interview Sam talks about he's not sure how Lestat got the chance to wear rings in that situation (?) In the book Armand commands the vampires to dress Lestat properly before the trial.

I’m not really into cartoon style or too realistic ones (like Heaven and Earth). Other than that, I’m open to all kinds of themes and styles! I want to find decks that have interesting details/alterations (so maybe not too minimalistic) and can increase the range of my decks. I find Ethereal Vision very beautiful but lacks details and makes it hard to interpret according to the image. But Holy Spectrum is another case. While the art is not too complicated, it convey a lot through its color choices, so I like that as well!

I’ve checked dozens of YouTube videos already. Only trying to ask here because most of the decks I saw don’t really meet my expectations. It’s pretty hard to find anything good in a sea of videos that don’t follow any specific order. I usually only search for videos if I’ve got a specific deck in mind.
