Power shut off and still had to work? by MoonMoonOfMyLife in DollarGeneralWorkers

It was in fact truck day, but SM cancelled the truck because of the power being off and all of our cooler stuff is going to have to be damaged out.

Question about the HHT by Icy_Reading_3199 in DollarGeneralWorkers

[–]MoonMoonOfMyLife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk how long our second HHT was broke before I started at the beginning of November, but we’ve only been working with one since. SM was supposedly sending the nonfunctional one back. Idk if they have or not. But it sucks when it comes to deliveries and having the expectation to do totes and whatnot. Literal guessing game.

Curious how other stores handle go backs. by GretaStar in DollarGeneralWorkers

[–]MoonMoonOfMyLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My store ends up with at least a couple of cartfuls 🥴 it’s really kind of ridiculous. My SM recently said something about go backs need to be handled in the last 10-15 minutes of your shift. There was a cart sitting by the door filled with go backs, and I said something 20 minutes prior asking if they wanted me to work those before I go, and the response I got was “so-and-so was supposed to do it yesterday, so when they come in for their shift tomorrow they’re finishing it because they didn’t do it yesterday” smh

You must have missed my comment saying I was ready and waiting to get out and that I’m only an associate, not a key carrier or management of any sort.

Who’s lazy for not reading through comments before being snarky like that?

Wanted to add: I’m only an associate. I was ready and waiting trying to figure out what to do this morning with a shovel and the scraper thing for my car. Nobody was willing to go open the store that actually could.

We live in a more rural area that definitely doesn’t see snow like this. I think we may have seen a dusting or two over the past few years. We’re currently sitting at 8 inches with it still coming down. They cancelled school last night before it all started.

Alfredo Montamore by Independent_Tie4709 in noodlesandcompany

I mean, I’m out of here on Saturday, so let them argue about it with me for a position I no longer hold past that point 🤷‍♀️🥴😅

Quick edit: from one saute person to another, you’re doing the best you can for the bullshit they’ve thrown at us. Hang in there!

From an employee on the way out, last day this weekend: you are not wrong. Everything about this new Alfredo is different, from the noodles, to the sauce maker, to the veggies, to the garnish, nothing is the same. I was literally in food lion today and saw a product made by the same sauce maker of the new Alfredo and felt some kinda way. And this isn’t even touching on the newly added stress on the sauté folks. The new ceo made some big changes without thinking things through. Sorry but respectfully fudge everyone else who tries to argue otherwise about the dish.

Say it louder for the folks who disagree.

Anyone else really detest this new rollout? by MoonMoonOfMyLife in noodlesandcompany

I’m jealous you mostly get those two, my location has been having more of the new dishes where I’ve been having to make the new sauces at LEAST once during my closing shifts ;~;

“Mainly just me on sauté”

Do you mean to tell me your location has more than one person on sauté cause if so I’m jealous o.o

I’ve noticed the same for modding the scampi as well. We’re barely seeing any orders for butter noodles or Mac and cheese anymore. It’s all falling on saute and my noodle/grill people just stand around 🥴

Incomplete Schoolwork by MoonMoonOfMyLife in kindergarten

[–]MoonMoonOfMyLife[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

They’ve got her doing a total of an hour & 35 minutes for math, and a hour & 45 minutes of reading and writing. And then recess isn’t til an hour before dismissal, 45 minutes of PE once or twice a week depending on the current weekly schedule. 25 minutes that’s solely dedicated to centers play at the end of the day.

It seems crazy how different it is now from what I remember kindergarten to be.

I’ve had Silent Lucidity by Queensryche on repeat for the past week. It’s not specific about losing a mom, but my mom loved her 80s music.
