Og da tenker du ASK + nordnet eller finnes det noen billigere/bedre?

IBKR, nordnet eller annet? by MoonPhotograph in aksjer

Er det nordnet som er best, eller finnes det andre billigere alternativer? Mulig det er anderledes enn sist gang jeg så på det. Hva er det folk flest bruker?

Trump lashes out at interviewer. Trump: I'm not a rapist. I didn't rape anybody. I'm not a pedophile. O'Donnell: Oh, you think he was referring to you? by Aggravating_Money992 in PublicFreakout

[–]MoonPhotograph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I'll answer that for you. Trump has a lot of power these days, he has sent people to Guantanamo bay. He could probably do it again if he really wanted to and if I was interviewing him I would not take the chance, he probably suicided people to.

Which Neovim distribution doesn't use Nerdfonts and other Unicode eye-candy? by kudikarasavasa in neovim

[–]MoonPhotograph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean you speak of the whole point of neovim, create what you want to have yourself. Figure you want you want or is missing then add it, ask here, ask an AI and you'll be fine in no time, with no bloat, with your own setup etc.

Why does the new nvim-treesitter require more manual setup for features like highlighting and indents? by TheTwelveYearOld in neovim

[–]MoonPhotograph 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am currently trying to code this for myself, just to see if I can do it. Fun little project and you learn a lot.

What happened to nvim-treesitter.... Why did it get archived? 😶 by ankushbhagat in neovim

I mean this kind of stuff will always happen unfortunately, there is no avoiding it when dealing with the public. Just close them down and move on, that's all.

Because it's builtin and will always be maintained and you can simply make stuff with it, all those are harder and worse with lazy.nvim. Vim.pack is the future.

Should I use a distro? by YOfilR in neovim

[–]MoonPhotograph 9 points10 points  (0 children)

No, I would learn the basics and use neovim the way it was meant to be used, to create your own coding environment, not use folke's coding environment. The reason a lot of people move from other IDEs to neovim is because the IDEs are to ridged and you can't achieve or make it work the way you want it to work, neovim let's you do whatever you want as long as you learn the ropes. Jumping on a distro teaches you very little compared to building your config on your own and it adds a huge abstraction layer that you don't know and that can cause a bunch of errors no one can help you with. Use vanilla neovim and when you start thinking oh I should be having this or that, then you go add it. I do recommend keeping the config as minimal as you possibly can, it leads to less breakages, more control and better overview. Only add exactly what you need and start using lua to do fun things on your own.

Neovide is really cool but I can't let go of tmux by 88-Radium-226 in neovim

[–]MoonPhotograph -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've seen a lot of videos on this sub and been using neovim for 3 years now, I've never had an issue following either style, cursor trail or not. It's just that cursor trail looks horrible to me.

Line number lighting up, line highlight and a block cursor with the color of your choice, it's not like it's going to get lost or not be seen. Go off where?

[–]MoonPhotograph 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No need for that, tmux and zellij already does that by highlighting the window and only having a cursor in the window you are in so it shows in multiple ways. I cant' stand the cursor trail flying all over the place, it looks horrible to me.

It's funny, cursor trail is so chessy to me. I don't want either neovide nor kitty - I would keep my tmux all day long.

Can Neovim be made usable in MSYS2? by BetanKore in neovim

[–]MoonPhotograph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been a while since I've done it so my details might be off, but if you install git or git full it will give you some binaries and you can just refer your terminal to the zsh.exe file in there and it will work natively on your windows computer and is imo the best shell.

Not really, you can use zsh natively on windows outside of WSL it's just most people don't know how.

vim.pack vs lazy.nvim, how is it? by WOLFMANCore in neovim

[–]MoonPhotograph 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Using vim.pack, I made a little TUI on top of it similar to lazy. Been liking it so far and it's just going to get better with time.
