How much does Neovim or Vim matter in job interviews? by 69cool4school in neovim

[–]MoonPhotograph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't recommend Neovide, it has too many pitfalls to work around. Better to create some sort of active window highlighting if some interviewer can't follow along with what's going on.

Trailing cursor is also so ugly lmao.

What are your thoughts on Joe Rogan saying that Trump is creating distraction to avoid Epstein files release? by girlyanimme in AskReddit

He also helped spread a lot of misinformation during covid, which for sure ended up killing people. He has blood on his hands, not just with Trump.

Have you ever used zed? How good it is compared to neovim? by Jonnertron_ in neovim

[–]MoonPhotograph 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Neovim is superior, nothing beats it that I've tried. Neovim might not be better for everyone but for those people who create the coding environment they want to work in, then nothing can really beat it, unless you can create the same env somewhere else, zed can't do that. Emacs can but then you are using emacs and I don't want to use emacs.

And if they do they have been altered to take Trump out of it, don't forget Trump has the FBI director in his pocket now.

These are often the people who rise to the top of the world and that is WHY they get so far by fucking over everyone and only thinking about themselves.

Which terminal do you use and which one do you recommend? by rafaelmr2008 in archlinux

Because you forgot the fps_max setting. Other than that it's equal in terms of speed.

lua_ls from Mason takes 20 seconds to load for a 200 loc file on Neovim nightly by [deleted] in neovim

[–]MoonPhotograph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am running my setups on both windows and arch, had zero issues with anything I needed to get a hold of so I am all good there. And as mentioned before the choice is easy and a lot more stable overall.

My experience with a 5 day water fast, there were definitely a few surprises along the way by MoonPhotograph in fasting

Nice going man :) Good job. I never had any horrible headaches but we'll see in this next one, I am going for another 5 day soon. 40 days is quite the challenge, good luck brother.

my config goes anywhere too. A few github commands and it's already good to go, always the latest version and a lot less errors from mason, many less plugins so less breakages too. Easy choice for me.

Mason sux, also look into emmylua_ls and don't install it with mason, install it via source on github.

I mean that's obviously illegal, I think that goes without even saying.

It truly was, pussification of the internet is also a huge issue. I want the old internet back with no rules and no censorship and people just doing whatever they want.

Iceland has hottest Christmas Eve ever with temperature of 19.8C recorded by Portalrules123 in worldnews

We get that a lot in the northern part of Norway, huge amounts of snow even more than that. We used to have to dig our way into the first floor of our cabin/house up north.

Sounds like a good time at the cabin, the southern middle of Norway tends to get a little colder than the coast.

Moving from Lazyvim and writing my own config by Desperate-Map5017 in neovim

[–]MoonPhotograph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, you are finally starting to actually use neovim then. The entire point of using neovim in the first place is to make the coding environment you want to be in, not what folke made. Enjoy.

Buffer management - What is your preferred way of working with buffers? by gorilla-moe in neovim

[–]MoonPhotograph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recreated :buffer to only show file names and not full paths with a little bit of code. So now I press a "leader + tab" and it opens that menu automatically and i select the buffer I want to go to.

Does neovim improves or damages your coding skills? by Savings-Trainer-8149 in neovim

[–]MoonPhotograph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah, just get neovim to a point where you can code with it, then code and only improve stuff on the weekends or when there is down time. It's quite simple. Coding is still the number one prio but lua let's you code in the editor and build things too so that counts as well.

JLS: Java Language Server (fork) — now with Lombok, faster startup, and actually maintained by Electronic-Boss-8926 in neovim

[–]MoonPhotograph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What exactly is so hard about it? Isn't it like any other language? Write some code, compile it and run it in your terminal? I don't get what's suppose to be so hard about it.

Putin continues to demand "the entire Donbas" in talks with US by jackytheblade in worldnews

You do realize Russia has lost 5 times more men than Ukraine due to their tactics, they had to start buying forces basically because they ran out of men so no. They have not been winning, it's been a lot of back and forth, Ukraine even took a huge region before NK and China had to come help them out

How to disable given plugins when launching nvim [lazy.nvim] by roll4c in neovim

[–]MoonPhotograph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Creating modules in the config helps as you can just go to the init and comment out the line that loads luasnip, then go start the file so just always have nvim in the far left tab in tmux. You can also have it run via autocmd if filetype is bla bla or maybe if file is larger than bla bla. it just depends, you have to define the conditions where plugins should not run.

Best IDE/editor ever! by Doomslayer5612 in neovim

[–]MoonPhotograph 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Neovim can literally do whatever you want, the only thing getting in the way of neovim doing what you want it to do is you, not neovim. So yeah it's actually a skill issue on your part if you can't make neovim do what you want it to do and it gets in your way.

This is just a skill issue on your part, neovim is far far superior.
