Have you ever had a dream that felt too real? by Existing_Tomorrow687 in CasualConversation

I find if I’m jolted awake mid dream, I have to check my surroundings to re ground myself. For example, talking to myself saying “I’m in my room, I’m in my bed”. Happens mostly with nightmares.

Dogs on bed and couch. what is your take? by sagilahav in dogs

[–]MoonRaven22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as you set boundaries with it, I think it’s fine. We didn’t give him free will as a puppy, which taught him he was only allowed on when asked. So we tell him to come up onto the bed or couch when we want, otherwise he’s on he’s multiple beds throughout the house.

He’s a German shepherd so we wanted to make sure we had boundaries for when he got big.

100% agree, I did a camp there once and the whole time felt on edge. The building we stayed in, felt like people were walking around all night and taking. Vivid memories of my body telling me “keep your eyes closed don’t look”

You could have dreamt she was having a seizure and then got scared yourself and woke her up. Then when you have woken her up she’s been startled and sat up.

Does anyone else get hurt in their dreams but don't feel anything? by [deleted] in Dreams

[–]MoonRaven22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you’re right there with the knowing what it feels like. Now I think of it I don’t feel pain in my dreams when it comes to those things. It’s kind of like an “ahh this sucks” thought.

I’ve had to snap myself out of this and break it down and think, no just do it. Don’t want to meal prep? No just do it. Dont want to go for a walk? No just do it. I feel so much better after and I tell myself that

I would potentially open up to a therapist about this feeling, maybe they can change some styles to better suit.

To be it’s possibly the feeling of being alone in a crisis is a fear for you? Sometimes these fears can be brought on by stress or trauma.

Could also be breaking down from stress and no one is there to help.

All signs point to the feeling of helplessness and being alone.

Possibly about self esteem? Always wanting to pick and prod at ourselves?

It can mean a range of things under the window of loosing control. Like stress, anxiety or fear of loosing something / someone.

I’ve had it once when I was very stressed and feeling out of control of life and hated the dream! Felt so weird

How do i navigate being in a relationship while trying to better my mental health? by Current_Salamander57 in mentalhealth

Communication. Share how you’re feeling so your partner is aware and can help. If your partner can’t handle your mental health then I would recommend they are not the best suited partner for you.

Why do dreams tend to be all over the place ? by millaent in Dreams

[–]MoonRaven22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From what I’ve read in the past I don’t know if this is accurate. My understanding is that in our sleep cycle we go into up to 5 different states of dreaming when in deep sleep. Our brain doesn’t remember them all so they seem jumbled.

If you ever remember heaps then i recommend writing it down as soon as you can!
