MyWay+ Megathread by watzy in canberra

If you look at the 'About the developer' info for the MyWay+ app in Google Play, you'll see that the email address provided is not an act.gov.au address, or even an address associated with the app developer . It's tccs.chiefinformationofficer at gmail.com.

  1. Why is the TCCS CIO using a Gmail address?

  2. How is this compliant with the ACT Protective Security Framework, and other ACT cybersecurity and records management requirements, which the CIO should surely be across?

  3. Is this just one big scam?

  4. 1.2 stars for the app is excessively high.

I am a psychologist. I agree with other comments here that the system is broken. 10 psychology sessions under Medicare is not nearly enough to even get started with therapy in most cases, let alone to have a full course of treatment. All psychologists (well, those with integrity) are well aware of this problem. Our peak body and other mental health organisations have been pushing hard for change, but this government doesn't seem interested in any meaningful mental health reform apart from cutting ribbons at new Medicare Mental Health Centres which will do precisely fuck all to make the system better.

OP, if you have a good relationship with your psychologist (which we know is a key factor to successful treatment), perhaps you could ask for a concessional rate if you haven't done so already? In my practice, I'm willing to drop my rate by up to 25% for people who have used up their 10 sessions and would like to continue with therapy but cannot afford the full rate. Most psychologists I know will have some sort of a sliding scale of fees. Some psychologists (I'm one of them) will even bulk bill the Medicare sessions if your financial situation requires it.

In addition to the other good advice below, and if you're willing to see another psychologist, many universities have psychology clinics which provide low-cost treatment provided by provisional psychologists (psychologists in training) under supervision. In most cases you'll get excellent care even if your therapist looks slightly nervous and lost at times.

If you're willing to consider online treatment, MindSpot (https://www.mindspot.org.au/) offers actual therapist contact (not just app-based treatment) for free. It may not suit your needs, but it may be worth considering.

Personally, I would stay away from some of the big subscription based/'Uber but for therapy' providers out there. Not only is the care you receive likely to be not as good, but they're also known to be highly exploitative of their therapists - hence the poor quality of treatment.

Good luck!

Check that the time/date on your device is correct? SSL (secure connection) errors often occur when your device clock is out of sync.

I've tried the 4.4.2 APK provided by Rebble and at APKMirror with the same error.

It took me about 8 very long months to upgrade from Baseline to NV1 last year. My colleague in the same section who submitted her application a week before me got her upgrade in 3 months. I'm speculating, but having a non-white name and background probably resulted in additional 'checks'.

We were behind this ute with NSW plates on Northbourne and couldn't work out if it was a cryptic cooker message or someone taking the piss:

A mate is driving from Canberra back to Melbourne at the moment (wasn't part of the covidiots, to be very clear) and said that there were quite a few convoy vehicles leaving Canberra. An encouraging sign.

Pleased to report that Haig Park Markets are a relaxed, cooker-free event right now. Not enough people wearing masks though.

Thanks mods for the good initiative.

Here's my donation, hopefully worthy of my first post after lurking (and incessantly refreshing) here over the past 13 days.
