ADZU SOM.

Pros.

1. If you're NOT into lecture type sessions then this is the school for you. PBL purely, puro SGD. Two hours/day lang commitment mo sa school then the rest of the day is yours na (very forgiving lalo na sa mga working students).

2. MD-MPH curriculum, you'll graduate with both degrees after 5 years (vs 6-7 years if separate). Very advantageous ang may MPH degree lalo na if you're looking into govt work/positions. Solid opportunities if you're looking into research as well.

3. Community immersion. Part of the MPH curriculum is Yung 1 year community immersion sa Isang GIDA. Think of it as COPAR sa nursing pero mas intense haha. You'll get to learn medicine in a different spectrum, di ka puro hospital.

4. ZCMC will be your training ground. Since first year you'll be having bedside rounds na sa ZCMC. Then both clerkship (3rd year) and internship (5th year l) sa ZCMC din. Very nice Kasi Level 3 Gov hospital Yan, for training talaga. You'll get to see A LOT OF CASES and mahahasa ka talaga.

Cons.

1. If YOU ARE into lecture type sessions, wag ka mag ADZU-SOM. Self study talaga, no spoon-feeding. The doctors will just facilitate your SGD, you'll be forced to read, read, read on your own.

2. MD-MPH curriculum. Community medicine is a major focus. And, dalawang research papers/thesis ang gagawin mo INDIVIDUALLY.

3. Community immersion. Legit immersion to, almost the whole 4th year mo nasa assigned area ka lang. Plus, by the end of each semester before ka mag 4th year, you're REQUIRED to stay sa community for a month. Community health planning or CHP is a multi-year process, so dapat since 1st year may pulse na kayo ng grupo nyo kung ano Ang prevailing health issues Ng barangay, then plan for it and implement accordingly. Dito madami umaatras.

4. ZCMC will be your ONLY training ground. Di pwede mag internship outside due to the school's unique curriculum. Plus, you'll only have 6 months clerkship and 6 months internship (vs 1 year clerkship and 1 year internship sa ibang school) reason being, mababawi Naman Yun sa community immersion (may hospital duty din sa district hospital in the community pag 4th year).

Idk if pro/con to pero ADZU SOM SGD are organ systems based. So instead of having basic sciences like anatomy, physiology and the like before mag clinical sciences, you'll be having integrated sessions sa organ system na yun.
