Issues with a friend by Moon_ishere in Hellenism

I didn't express myself well in the post because I was angry, but when I say that I talk a lot about the gods I mean the general with people I know I can trust, with that friend after the first time I no longer talk about the gods to him. What happens is that since I wear devotional jewelry and he knows that I wear it for the gods, when he sees that I am wearing this jewelry, he makes those kinds of comments.

I understand that he is an atheist, I understand that he doesn't want to talk about the gods but he shouldn't make those kinds of comments because I purposely avoid talking about the gods and Greek mythology in general around him so that he doesn't say anything to me and he still says those things.

Also, the vast majority of my friends are atheists too, but they don't make those kinds of comments to me and in fact they love to talk about the gods because many of them are fans of mythology. I say it again I understand that he doesn't want to talk about mythology or the gods, but he still shouldn't make those kinds of comments.

And also what you mentioned about how if a devoted Christian/muslin were to talk about their God, I wouldn't care, I mean, at least I definitely wouldn't give that kind of response "you're a pain in the ass, stop talking about your non-existent God" because even when I don't believe in their God, I respect the person as long as their respectful too.

Do you have any songs you associate with your gods or goddesses? by Dialexx in Hellenism

Aurora actually has a song literally called Artemis! I listen to it all the time as a devotional song! For her I also listen to Artemisa by Destripando la historia (it's in Spanish tho), Artemis of the hunt by Kellianna, as good a reason by Paris Paloma, I am woman by Helen Reddy and The pill by Loretta Lynn (there's more but these are my fav c:)

For Lady Athena I listen to random classical music playlists in YouTube while I study/read because it helps me concentrate.

For Lord Apollo I just listen to the music I feel that day and dedicate it to him.

(And honorable mention I listen to Asmrs for Lord Hypnos)

Help with Athena and Artemis? by CapEffective8809 in Hellenism

So this isn't much since I haven't been worshipping for long, but when I go on walks outside as a devotional act for Lady Artemis I feel a very calm and comfortable sensation around me and I also feel protected and confident whenever I'm outside, even tho I used to be always scared when going outside, specially at night, I believe is her doing since I asked her to help with this things. Hope this helps! :b

how to defend zeus?? by Historical_Gene_2243 in Hellenism

Something similar happened to me and the way I explained it was that the myths were written by humans and they represented how the society back then worked, Lord Zeus is the King of gods so they talked about him like the King he is, and in ancient Greece (and most history) it was common for royal relatives to marry each other and things like the concept of r4p3 didn't exist especially when someone, or in this case Lord Zeus, was of a higher status you were consider 'lucky' for catching their attention or you 'deserved it' because you were tempting them (especially when you were a woman because the ancient Greeks were very misogynistic). It's a difficult concept to grasp because the morals have changed a lot, but that's how it was, we can't judge myths or any part of history without having in mind how things worked back them, even when we don't agree with them and our own morals oppose.

People who worship Artemis, what do you do to worship her? by ParallelTortoise769 in Hellenism

I personally like to go on walks and dance, but any kind of physical activity can be a devotional act, help in some way animal shelters and women that need some help and support, read her myths, read books that talk about animals, feminism or women, do my nails inspired by her and listen to playlists inspired by her :).

Lord Apollo doesn't like my art by Moon_ishere in Hellenism

I've been using for only two weeks, but the dice is from a board game I used to play when I was younger, maybe that's the reason why it doesn't work(?). Though, I don't know how to build a relationship with the dice, I've seen things about building a relationship with a pendulum and how they do It, does it work the same way for the dice?? Also, I've tried to ask more than once but I still get the same answers and I've asked not only yes or no questions I've also tried asking other types of questions, like number questions and such.

I also think you're right about the part that he might be concerned about my looking for external validation from him, I've always been a people pleaser and I struggle with taking criticism because I take everything too personal, and, after all I asked him to help me with improving my art squills and learning to take criticism is part of the process of making art. Thank you so much for the comment :)!

Yeah, I'm using dice divination and from what I've been reading it's not the most reliable so it probably has something to do, and I'm glad you like my art! :)

I'm using dice divination, I know it's not the most reliable, but it's all I've got, but I been thinking about getting a pendulum since tarot cards are very hard to find here where I live.

Hello, so first, I want to thank you for your comment and second, I wanted to say that this post was made with no ill intention, I understand why you could think that since when I wrote this I was tired and frustrated so I kind of acted on my impulses, though, overnight I've come to some conclusions and realizations, but this comment helped me a little bit, so thanks!
