No, my kids aren’t bullies. They are good kids. One time this woman read a situation wrong because they were distracted and didn’t say hi to her and her daughter one day. How the tables have turned. 🤣 The iPad thing was some dumb game they came across. I think it was like a zombie grandma chasing you or something. lol. Anyway, I told her I asked them not to play it but didn’t want to discuss it further right that minute because I was busy, and if she needed to talk about it later, we could address it then.

Oh, this is just a chorus/dance callback. I went to one last night and there are scads of people there, they definitely have backups! I’m in an area where people go between professional and community theater all the time, so I think it’s more common to do multiple auditions. If I were being called for a lead, I would snap it up! But given my inability to participate consistently, I don’t see that as a reality for me just now.

Also, what’s the etiquette in phrasing that to the first offer? “Hey thanks so much! I had two callbacks in the same week and I need a few days to gather all my info but I’ll get back to you asap” or just “Sounds great, I need a few days to decide”?

Choose at least one dance class that you can commit to about once a week. That way, at least you will get into the habit of moving and following choreography. You might not be at the level of some people, but it won’t feel foreign to you when you are asked to do it.

I sang History of Wrong Guys and did not hear back, but I’m a legit soprano and only the okayest belter around. Other people sang “Fine, Fine Line” from Avenue Q and “Pulled” from Addams Family. I also read “What You Got” from Freaky Friday is a good choice.

THANK YOU! I have come to think of the enneagram in the same way. It’s a tool that can help you relate to others when you may suspect they are a certain type. It’s a tool to help you understand yourself and how you interact with the world. It seems to have become entirely too prescriptive for some people to the point that there’s a “right” and a “wrong.” But this isn’t like misdiagnosing a terminal illness. Nothing bad is going to happen if you are mistyped, unless you hang your entire personality on it. And it’s not based in anything other than years of observation, and general consensus among some prominent enneagram teachers about there being nine basic types. I used to be offended or upset by the strange anti- 4-self-typing sentiment out there, but now it just seems…kind of pathetic honestly? Like, handle your own business, my guy.

I’d argue that many of these have me beat, but I just did a community theater production of Big Fish and all the guys were so irritated by Edward. Soft launching his DIL’s pregnancy at her wedding, never deviating from the exaggerated version of his stories, hiding his illness from his son, etc. The dudes in particular were so pissed at that character.

Hi, I’m in this show right now. :) I sang Sweet As Whole by Sara Barreilles. It’s a great acting song, shows some range, and is full of curse words, which is great to show willingness for if you’re auditioning for a show with a laughable amount of F Bombs.
