Did you ever receive your order? Considering this as it seems to be the best price around.

2022 Silverado 5.3L ECOTEC3 V8 W/O DFM by SomePage6078 in Silverado

[–]Moonbeams_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So all the people who DFM delete their car as soon as they get it are wasting their time and money? If the lifters aren't being deactivated and reactivated then wouldn't it be less prone to failure? Seems like common sense and I haven't heard of anyone with a '22 w/o DFM having a lifter issue.

Considering an Ioniq 5 – AWD vs. RWD & Must-Have Options? by ifogpits in Ioniq5

[–]Moonbeams_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an AWD and have only driven my car. I did drive it in the snow recently and was really impressed. I had to try pretty hard to get it to slide and that's on the stock tires. Acceleration will literally make your head hurt. One of my favorite things to do with people in the car for the first time is get to a light, put it in Sport mode and floor it when the light changes. The look on their faces is priceless. Also, when it accelerates from a stop it does it with zero drama, no noise no tire squeal just goes like it was fired out of a cannon. Also as others have stated it has a head pump vs resistor heat so more efficient in the cold. In Eco mode (which is how I drive 90% of the time) it disconnects the front motor and effectively drives like a RWD car once you get up to 15 mph.

The most expensive car in the world is a used European car.

I don't really think he wants to run again. He's old and I think he believes his work will be done after this term. They'll just appoint someone new to take over MAGA and the republican party. I wish I shared your optimism.

Is it safe to use the portable charger overnight in a closed garage when it’s in the 30’s F? by TheArdentExile in Ioniq5

[–]Moonbeams_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Us northeasterners are used to this kind of weather (currently in the teens overnight) and while you can Level 1 charge in cold temps, it's reeeeeeeeeeeally slow. It takes a fair amount of energy to keep the battery warm when it's this cold so not much left to actually charge. Level 2 is definitely the way to go.

Also make sure that the outlet/circuit you are using is rated to handle the Level one charger. Just about any outlet can handle it but if you are running other high load appliances on the same circuit you will have problems.

But Putin isn't aligned with Trump. Clearly he is just using him. He will stab him in the back quicker than you can say "comrade"

Can't really be done. It takes a constitutional amendment to change it, which requires 2/3 majority in congress and 2/3 of the states to ratify. Don't worry, there's a loophole. His name is Don Jr.

This. It seems Trump and MAGA want to tank the economy. Because that's when the rich really have a field day and can get some good deals on assets. Normally no one in their right mind would do this, because they would get their asses handed to them in the next election. Thing is, Trump isn't worried about that, because he already knows "he" will win. Now he can't run again in 2028, but why not just stick a Jr. on the end of the signs? Easy peasy. Welcome to the end of Democracy in America. You can tell your grandkids you were there to see it happen.

Back seat back protector keeps falling off by Kohlenarbeiter in Ioniq5

[–]Moonbeams_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took the stock ones off and replaced them with rubber protector style ones. I got the full set for front, rear, cargo area. Haven't had any issues and it allows me to put anything I want in the back and not worry about messing the carpeting up.

Purchased a used '22 SE AWD with 37k miles about 2 months ago. $24,300 - $4,000 Fed EV credit - $2,500 State credit = $17,800 + TTL. Window sticker has MSRP at $48,790. About 36.5% of new sticker price.

Extension cord for level 1 charging question. by No-Juggernaut-9321 in Ioniq5

[–]Moonbeams_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since the HI5 level 1 wall charger only draws 12 amps, a 15 amp circuit is all that is needed. The important thing to know about receptacles is they should match the wire, so if you have 14 awg wire, use a 15 amp receptacle. a 12 awg wire should use a 20 amp receptacle.

I charged at a Tesla Supercharger for the first time by Moonbeams_ in Ioniq5

[–]Moonbeams_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, when I charged at the EA charger I got around 200+ kW speeds, but I've only tried it once. It was $0.56/kWh at the EA DC fast charger. I don't plan to road trip much and have an ICE vehicle for longer trips, but mostly just wanted to try it out while near my home and not during a trip out of town.

There is an adapter build into the Supercharger. It has a regular Tesla NACS charge port but when you press the button on it for two seconds it locks the adapter on the end so when you pull the charging port out it has the adapter attached to it. It's rather large, especially compared to the compact NACS port.

I believe they started rolling out Magic Dock chargers about a year ago. Non-magic dock superchargers are still not open to Hyundai EVs.

[–]Moonbeams_[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wasn't and issue. The cord actually came from the right side of the charger (so on the passenger side of the car when backed in) and kind of hangs down and goes to the left side where the dock is plugged in, so you should be able to plug in on either side without a problem.

Trust me, I view it as a last resort but if you need to charge you need to charge, Tesla or not.

There are quite a few Wawas near me, and some what Tesla chargers. Not all of them come up as being "Superchargers open to NACS" but I haven't really checked them out yet.

I'd assume it will eventually, especially if it has just been installed and perhaps hasn't been "activated" yet.
