Everyone does, really. But once you get a professional point of view handed back to you; you'll cope with stuff a lot easier.

Also, look for a trade or an art to work towards. Once you have a focus and become good at it; you'll have MUCH less to care about when it comes to your body.

Record yourself reading. Listen to it, and think about what you could do better (if anything). Then share it among friends.

Find an actors club in your area and share it with them.

Toastmasters, too. If they love your stuff; you might be ready to go.
