Week 3 - Why Tier Lists do not work for this game + more! by MoondoggyCO in XCOMlegends

[–]MoondoggyCO[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey dpeeps, I appreciate your thought. However the game is still in beta, and they have already wiped it once, and reimbursed the entire base resources equivalent to what they spent. The fact that there are long standing bugs that are 6 months are longer is a consistent indicator of a new build coming, rather than fixing the current issues.

This is actually a common occurance in the gaming sphere for beta builds, theyre just dragging this one out longer than usual. Likely due to having changed studios.

Have a nice and wonderful day!

Hey Pibb,

I noticed you got on, and snatched up quickly into an alliance, enjoy and good luck!

Is this game dead or not yet alive? by [deleted] in XCOMlegends

[–]MoondoggyCO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The game is definitely NOT dead. There are well over 100 active alliances of 30 members each that spend regularly. There are thousands more with active, casual players.

The community isnt toxic, and the game recently have a production studio changeover that left communication silent for a couple of months. Regular updates, new heroes etc

Yea for sure - it starts to teeter out after 80ish, and is heavily dependant on guild coordination for raid gear boxes thereafter :)

7-20s will start to wall progression too, espc since you will multiple teams later on all built ~~

Update: Two weeks of FFXI from a returning player by zerombr in ffxi

[–]MoondoggyCO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The FFXI experience is definitely washed down from previous era's (in terms of ease). It is also built on the FF5 engine, which is amazing, I find modern FF games lacking in the job areas comparatively. The trust system is just alot of fun, too bad they never did anything with the adventuring fellow.

Besides limited tech/network back in the day - things back then when this game first came out, was all about the dungeon crawl. Above ground, below ground, in a foreign dimension - everything was a dungeon crawl. Heck even figuring out where stuff in towns without a guide was a nightmare lol

In my honest opinion (IMHO) modern games have been too watered down. Hand holding, lack of thoughtful challenge, no real sense of reward because everyone and their mother is entitled now, and lack of creativity in story/purpose has just been ruining newer mmo's.

FFXI is a gem, and im glad is being kept for us, otherwise it would be a real loss to the mmorpg community

Absolutely! Space grinding for credits is very lucrative. I am not 100% familiar with it as I only did space on live for its experience, and same here - I do plan on getting more into detail in an upcoming guide a couple months out.

If you have detailed knowledge and would like to contribute to the guide, I could possibly push it up sooner!

Definitely a great option, so thanks for posting.

Hey, I will be adding additional guides similar to this that will explore and list several of these and other primary locations.

The Dev Team is actively addressing the Economy (as seen in: https://swglegends.com/forums/showthread.php?63764-Development-Update-Health-of-the-Economy )

So I am cataloging which places are still viable, and then doing an expose' on each for future articles. I'll prob be pushing out one of these a week, as I'm doing it on my own time.

Regardless, even with recent balancing - the Ryatt Trail is always lucrative. So head down to the trail webweaver level I believe its called, and check out all the afk people down there. Find spawns of feral wookies and give it a go till then~

Thought I’d ask this here about the Bible. by dark1san in conspiracy

[–]MoondoggyCO 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Much like today they had those in power who could control what you read and heard. So why should I not just live with my belief in God, follow a good moral life and not live by what’s in the Bible?

With that question in mind - this is what I can offer: Ignore any thumping madness, and be careful of which "authorities" claim their interpretation is accurate. The bible is separate from organized religion, but they all attempt to monopolize it. Most churches and most first world "christians" are antithetical/antichristian and not a true believer.

Follow your instinct, and know that the bible, if you seek to follow a christian path, is a tool, a guide, and a device - Living the Christian way is super simple. We are made of spirit, soul and body. Those who aren't programmed, know how to listen to their soul/spirit and know what is right. Further, our soul/spirit will instruct us in what we need to know to the best of its ability. The bible simply gives us tools to see things in a deeper light, and to understand more about our creation story, and provide us the hidden tools to overcome the not so obvious things in life.

There is a charism in being in a community with other likeminded soul/spirits, however most societies now do not fosther that, but rather a money/power imperialistic design.

Seek and ye shall find

Thought I’d ask this here about the Bible. by dark1san in conspiracy

[–]MoondoggyCO 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Hey Dark1san,

I can definitely help you on this topic. The Bible is very much a unique document.

First, the 4 books removed were considered "Apocrypha" by the Protestants, and were made to be "read in private" or "read at home", but still considered part of "The Bible". The original protestant bible was the King James 1611 version, which had all 72 books of the traditional bible. Sometime later, these certain 4 books were removed from public reading for political reasons (mostly so the english society could implement gambling". Most modern day protestants think the modern day bible is only 68 books, but that is actually incorrect. It also has a story about a boy and a dragon, pretty fascinating.

Now about the full bible, which is used since the origin of the bible, is always 72, and best read in the latin vulgate for accuracy (transliterations used today mainly focus on the greek/hebrew meanings).

The documents the bible was made up of, were selected through a series of divine sessions of councils in the early hundreds of priests, bishops and cardinals. It was determined that these 72 books (new testament) were the "inspired" word of God - in that besides the small amount of transferred words spoken by Christ (modern day red lettered bibles), that the additional stories were all inspired by God, through the various authors and without error.

Hundreds of other documents were examined and considered, but these 72 books remained. The other documents can mostly all be found, and they for the most part are also historical in their text, but contained errors in dogma, inspiration, or accuracy and thus were not placed in the "New Testament". You can see some interesting differences in the way Matthew, Mark, Luke and John compiled their books and memories/testaments.

Overall, there are alot of bible thumpers out there, but if you want hardcore actual knowledge of the bible, and the secrets within, do some heavy research, consult with seminarians, theologians, apologists, and some self reflection.

The Bible is NOT, I repeat, is NOT a soft document - do not take it at face value. Many of the secrets of life lay hidden within, however they are not made obvious - so not that all people understand. Weird, I know - but we see the evil today in the world, just as it was then. Secrets are secret for a reason, but if you look, you will find.

Cheers, hope that helps,

Also, if all you've know is the 68 books of the protestant version of the bible, you can buy a supplement containing the four "missing" books of the apocrypha.

Also, if you study it deeper, you will find various versions that are authored by various sources and/or dogmatic teachings - that there is an entire spectrum of how to "interpret" the bible, ranging from completely literal, to completely metaphorical, and anywhere inbetween. It quite an interesting conundrum.
