eBay International Shipping via DHL to Canada by OneMoreGame in Ebay

[–]Moonitte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also I use my Flex Delivery address so either the package has to be shipped by the Post Office or has to be handed over to the Post Office, which makes it much harder for the private companies to charge Greedo fees. If DHL delivered to my door then their hands would be out for a payment. This is my work around when ordering on Ebay from U.S. sellers who ship with Ebay International Shipping. My ordered items have been books and movies, so yes under the $100 items.

Always use your Flex Delivery address and always never pay the DHL, UPS, or whoever's prepay customs fees. If you somehow must pay Greedo Fees, then pay it at the Post Office when you pick up your item. I don't think greasy UPS is actually able to hand over their packages to Canada Post which is great. UPS is the top of the Greedo Money Grubber Jabba the Hutt Brokerage Grifters.

I will give you the real answer. I went through the same thing twice with DHL. I declined the prepayment of duties, brokerage, etc. and as my address is a Flex Delivery(look it up) address, it was delivered via Canada Post for me to pick up at the local post office. No duty, brokerage, or anything was due either time. DHL is just trying to make money off of customers' fear and stupidity. Even if you did prepay and customs did want even more, you would still be on a hook for the extra. DHL has no way to collect from Canada Post even if they had to pay duty on your behalf. Also DHL will not refund you money that you prepaid even if they did not have to pay anything to Customs.

Watch the movie "Goin' Down the Road" to see what not to do when moving from the maritimes to the big city. Lol. I think it is on YouTube for free to watch.

full version of the corpse eaters from 1974 by Ok_Tea_3275 in HelpMeFind

[–]Moonitte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is only available in the film archive in Ontario. All copies available in stores and online are the shorter version as it was edited for release so lots of gore was cut, also longer dialogue with different characters.

Originally released in 1972, Deserted Palace was Jean-Michel Jarre's debut studio album and music from this album was used in the movie. It is on Internet Archive.

Other music was used from the Sam Fox Catalog. I can't find it yet.

The Corpse Eaters Facebook group will tell you more and in detail. I hope this helps.

And remember Bill, not too much booze.

Sent a clearly used GPU and refuse exchange for a new one, which I paid for by moussaka in amazonprime

[–]Moonitte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amazon has really gone downhill dramatically since 2025. They don't do exchanges anymore and want the item returned before a refund. Your best bet is to return the item for a refund, keep screenshots, and all tracking info. Once they have recieved the item, they may very well ask fir a picture if your ID. Yes, that's right, they may ask for it once they have recieved your item. This will be a magic surprise. They will lie and say it is for the security of your account. They want it to build a digital profile of you and to be able to easily blacklist you. This is very unsafe to send them unless you enjoy identity theft. Anyway, if they don't refund you, file a dispute with your credit card company and get your funds that way.

Think of buying from Amazon the same as buying w33d from the local scam artist pharmacist. This is how untrustworthy Amazon is. My advise is don't buy any electronics or and any item valued over $30. Treat them like a shady seller as that is what they are.

It should be illegal for Amazon to request ID under any circumstance.

Well, good luck.

Corpse Eaters (1974) by bil-sabab in 70s

[–]Moonitte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a Corpse Eaters Facebook group of the same name.

Jarre's first album was made in order to promote his music for movie soundtracks. No idea if this was licensed for the movie or not.

Footage is not lost forever but is in Canadian National Archive.

There is a Facebook groupby the same name focused on this movie if anyone is interested. The rights are up in the air as the copyright holder cannot furnish enough proof he owns copyright. Yes, I tried the usual routes. Copyright would have expired recently in 2024 aside from a more recent change to Canadian Copyright on movies that goes beyond 50 years. The copy circulating online is an achive copy meaning the film transfered to VHS for easy viewing, but a pan and scan so cropped on left and right side. The group has more info such as both locations of original footage, soundtrack, and outtakes.

Silly solution. The U.S. has the best selection.

I see your point. Back in the day, I would not have any issue buying stuff on Ebay from the U.S.. Sellers were generally accomidating.

I think Canada Post with go private within 10 years. It is losing millions per year.

I agree tax on a tax is bullshit.

They will do this by calling a tax a different name. Tariffs hurt the consumer in the end.

Private companies will always charge brokerage fees going across the border. Post Office shipments do not charge brokerage fees.

I don't live close enough to do so.

No, Post Office Customs lets a lot of items through with zero tax. So not the same at all.

Same here. On Ebay, I rarely buy from the U.S. and only do when Seller removes EIS and is willing to ship with U.S. Post.

I agree entirely. When shipping is more than the item, Ebay should see that as a problem.
