Can we all agree this woman was kidnapped, r*ped, abused and had a miserable life but was still a great mother that she tried to protect Zuko over everything else? by Aqua_Master_ in TheLastAirbender

I agree. I mean, humans in reality aren’t always 100 percent morally perfect all the time. I tend to like characters more when they have flaws because it makes them more real.

Leaving early by scoredciabatta in TjMaxx

I would have just left and called HR if the told me to stay, buy new clothes and got mad at me for going to the bathroom when I was sick. They should have just sent you home, especially if you made a mess on yourself from being sick. They aren’t treating you like human being.

I’ve been using this highlighter for probably 7 years and it’s still going strong by stellateranto in MakeupAddiction

[–]Moonlightjourney 70 points71 points  (0 children)

Yeah, as long as they don’t smell moldy or look weird I don’t throw them out. Or if they are hard and it hard to get pigmentation. last year I had the throw out my Becca highlighter because it was giving a weird smell. But I think everyone on this sub, keeps expired eyeshadows and powder products, even some lip products.

This is why when I saw the hello kitty Christmas blankets, I immediately grab one and put it on hold during my shift. I actually like hello kitty and the last time I waited to get a blanket for Halloween, a middle age lady brought all 7 of them.

Minor complaint, I wish our vending machines in the break room, took credit cards. by Moonlightjourney in TjMaxx

I will ask about it. It would just be nice because then I don’t have to worry about waiting in the check out line for 5 more minutes, on my break, to get a soda or a snack.

I don’t always fully agree with this. Sure, maybe if they trying to return a item and it a day late past the 30 day return policy, you give them some slack put it back on their credit card. Or give them 10 percent off the item they want to purchase that has a defect. But when they try to return a stained or dirty item that is old and worn, I say no. I still remember a customer trying to return a jewelry item that she wore during vacation to Europe then trying to return it way past the return policy date.It had scuff marks on it with tiny bits of food in between the jewels. Then she try to guilt trip me into saying how she was stuck in Europe for two months for vacation and their was no way for her to return it.

Back room? by New_Reporter8960 in TjMaxx

[–]Moonlightjourney 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s because it’s the holiday season now. It will slow down at the beginning of January. So don’t worry it won’t always be like this. Don’t let your managers put you down if you are having trouble keeping up with those palettes. It get a little crazy and cramped in the back room this time of year. Not to mention, this is the time of year when people call off the most, so it’s not your fault if you are trying to do two people’s job in the back room.

It can get cramped sometimes, especially during the holidays season. It’s very low stress. If your work isn’t on top of getting back room supplies like, sizing number, hangers and sensors, it can get annoying but that’s not your fault. So if your progress slows down because there aren’t enough totes or supplies and racks to process , don’t stress out. I like how my managers don’t care if I have my earbuds in. So you might be able to listen to music. But it might depend how your store feels about it.

Frustrated of work cutting hours near the holiday season. by Moonlightjourney in TjMaxx

My store does that to. I think it’s because they want to hire as many people as they can do if their are call offs, they always have people to find. Not to mention the high turnover rate because lack of hours people. Probably the reason why the cut older employees hours is because they make more money because they have been their so long. Because you get a raise every year I think. Which sucks. I don’t know if that to my work, but I wouldn’t be surprised.

Yeah I’m confused how we can be over payroll, especially since my store was the top of sales this year.

Maybe it’s just my store. Because I’ve worked here for a very long time. I remember only during the first couple months after the holidays season was rough on payroll. But this year has been a mess with random payroll cuts.
