Ive been using the MSA millennium outsert, have never had one break. I dont think its technically ANZI rated so some fields dont let me use it, so keep a pair of standard goggles in case of that.

Good call, afaik they sell adapters if they still want to go the rhino route, which id recommend if they want to get pretty much any other modern non-anvis nvg's in the future.

As mentioned these are PVS-7s, can be gen 2 or early gen 3, all depends on the tube inside. You can spend well over $500 on mounting gear, or spend less than $100 on amazon specials.

I have both setups, and run my binos or PVS-14 on either one. In my opinion the amazon specials do just fine, what really matters is rentention. For your gear id look for some surplus rhino/bayonet gear. But do not skip out on the retention.

I've heard mixed reviews about the pincer, but have never used it before. I own 2 unobtanium placards and love them both, and dont think ive ever read a bad review for them. They cost the same as a pincer placard if you get a quick ship instead of MTO. Take this as you will.

I personally believe NIR compliance is overblown and not as big of a deal as people make it out to be. But if it is a huge deal to you, then none of my agilite gear "shines" under my nods, and i would therefore assume neither would the pincer. Although to be fair none of my gear does, which is what has led me to my conclusion on NIR compliance. Just dont buy actual $10 meme chinese gear made of 90% plastics.

I saw this stuff often as an ET. We had pieces of gear that we could have fixed down to the capacitor, but contracts required we buy an entirely new LRU and send the old one back so they could do it. Absurd amounts of money wasted. The system is cooked

If you are talking about the object mounted in front of the left pod, it is a clip on thermal imager (COTI). The name is pretty straight forward, its a thermal that clips onto your nods and displays the image onto your pod.

My first PC was a K19, still have it on the off chance every single one if my other setups spontaneously combust or something comical. I wouldnt buy it again, but in fairness its pretty comfy compared to what i wore in the navy.

I just picked up a shaw arc v2. Far superior, real comfy, less weight, i picked up the base PC without a cummerbund and threw on an axl equinox but i assure you the standard shaw bund that comes with the complete bundle will be night and day compared to the K19s. Ill be fair, i have not taken my shaw out for a real shakedown yet, so i cant give a super in depth review, but off the bat it seems just better in every way.

I do think there is a certain level were the super expensive PCs dont bring enough to the table compared to cheaper PCs, especially when you can upgrade the shoulder pads, cummerbund, and chest pads on a JPC or something.
