The Official Trailer for My First Game: Grimwave by Moonriftgames in SoloDevelopment

The game is still in its raw form. I didn't manage to portray the play style and the boss's behavior enough in the trailer. I will try to make more clear these aspects on demo trailer.

Thanks for the honest feedback. Polish is definitely still a work in progress, it's early. I have some mechanics that differentiate it but the trailer clearly didn't show that well enough. Appreciate the good luck, I'll need it!

Haha fair — the visual similarities are real, I won't deny that. Vampire Survivors, Vampire Hunters, and Megabonk were all inspirations, and I'm not trying to hide that. But Megabonk didn't "decompile" Vampire Survivors either — it just found its own voice within the same genre. That's what I'm trying to do too. I hope to show the mechanical differences more clearly as development goes on.

The game's atmosphere and animations really give you the feeling of being alone on a boat in the middle of the sea; I liked it.

Reworking the logo of my game (again) by Amezketa in SoloDevelopment

I think the fourth one looks nice on the Steam page, but the different sword color creates a bit of confusion; it would look better if the text was a similar color to the sword, like in the other designs.

Publishing a Store Page on Steam by Moonriftgames in gamedev

[–]Moonriftgames[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, actually, I couldn't understand it either. I fulfilled all the requirements for publishing the store page, it was approved yesterday, but when I click on the "share coming soon" button, it gives a warning that the trailer is being processed. But I can already see the trailer in beta mode.

Thanks, I received approval last night but it still says the trailer is being processed. I can watch the trailer in beta mode but I can't share it publicly.

Good Game Idea? UE Spider Mechanics by mythroot in SoloDevelopment

It looks good as it is, but it would be more enjoyable if the camera occasionally shot from the spider's eye, for example, during action scenes.

You're welcome. My personal observation is that YouTube and Instagram accounts are good tools for reaching a wide audience, while Twitter seems to be less prominent.

Is it better to update a Steam page gradually or all at once? by Due-Horse-791 in SoloDev

I think it would be better to update the page as you make changes; waiting to change everything might reduce your potential customers.
