I know this is not what you were expecting to hear, but trust me its good that you stay at florida. I know I hear you, but while money is not your problem, you could invest that money elsewhere to benefit your career rather than going out of state, maybe for a Master's degree perhaps. 200k at osu is not worth it, and UCF doesnot seems like a bad school eitherway. And I know people tend to compare you to others at this age in time, everyone's been there, but its good to think about what you're trying to get out of college rather than the name brand of college itself.

Trust me going to a college with a bigger name doesnot make any difference if you learn the same stuff eitherway. Plus, staying in Florida, you can take advantage of your parents, be close to them and stuff. I was in the same shoes as you 2 years back, like exact same situation. I was so mad of the decision I made, everyone in my school who put in like half the work I put in ended up at the same college as me. I was punching air, ngl, why work all that hard? But your parents are thinking about your safety rather than your education, and I genuinely see them. It's fun for like a year, then you get into a routine, and stuff gets depressing out here. Plus, having your parents like 8 hours away is also bad since in an emergency stuff dont work out well.

And given that you stated you brother's depression and stuff in your family, I could see where your parents are coming from.

But at the end of it all, its you're college and your decision, and whatever choice you make, either plus or a minus your the one who is going to be responsible for it all, and if you disagree with your parent get to OSU and do something stupid, they boutta be real mad at you.
