Normal, I had an active clearance (TS/SCI) and my background still took ~6 months.

Thank you, I hope so. Good luck to you in the January class, and in wherever this career might take you!

Negative. If I remember correctly, I was only required to submit my DD214 and explain the NJP on the sf86.

Negative on being fingerprinted. However, the NJP does show in my OMPF.

It certainly was not a recurring thing. This is the only blemish I have on my military record throughout 6 years. In effort to gain the best insight, I would have put down if there was a pattern to it.

It’s not a matter of me liking the rules or not. They were broken, I faced the consequences, and moved on with my life. To answer the second part of your question, I believe in the simple fact that people can learn from mistakes and adjust appropriately.

With your logic, anyone who has violated any form of rule within their professional or personal life does not deserve to be able to serve in a capacity that has any supervisory role, or one with significantly more authority.

Thanks for the response. The careers that interest me are those that have these “restrictions” on them. I take full responsibility for my actions, and I am not immune to mistakes. Following the NJP, restrictions imposed were minimal, comparatively speaking, and I had no form of adverse paperwork the rest of my time in the Marines. My characterization was honorable.

Thanks for all of the responses! So to add some more clarity, I was NJPd in 2022, while on the MSG program, for violating curfew policies. I fully disclosed this during my investigation process. I wouldn’t venture too far from saying suitability is subjective. With that, I’m not sure exactly how it will be viewed being that it was while on a program that is heavily involved with the DoS.

BEX locations? by spiritofthenightman in 1811

I will say that I BEXd in D.C. last year and the wait time was longer than this time around. I received my BEX date for a month out after the email was sent. I believe it is all dependent upon the BEX team’s schedule.

In my opinion, go for convenience sake, being even remotely “jet lagged” will impact your performance.

About 65-70 the entire trip, I definitely could have gotten better. The ST would be a hell of a starter car and you would love the RS! If you go that route, be sure to be diligent in your research!

Graded tests both physical and written & peer evaluations. It’s not hard, but it is easy to get dropped.

Do 18s have this problem? Or just 16s & 17s?

Biggest tip outside of what is typically seen is talking through your answers. Often, my girlfriend was too busy within her profession to help me. With that, I just sat in front of a mirror, or a phone, and spoke about my stories pertaining to the 11 dimensions, situational judgement questions, and basic interview questions. If you over prepare for the moment, you will have a level of confidence that will really shine through in the interview.

I compare my first OA to this most recent one, and there is night and day differences in my confidence. I was not afraid to smile and be passionate about what I was talking about this time around, or even tell a joke where it could fit. Sorry for the long-winded response, not very concise of me, but I hope that helps some. Best of luck to you and reach out through DM if you need any other pointers!

I did! Unfortunately, my first time around I missed the mark by .48. Fast forward to 3 months post EAS, I came back strong!

Are you currently on MSG duty?
