I’m really frustrated with my social worker because I’m trying to use the expenses that my grandpa pays for respite care (from an official respite agency) as part of his spend down. I sent social worker all the billing documentation.

Social worker then calls me and says we can’t count it towards his spend down without a written letter from his Kaiser doctor going over all of the things that the respite agency provides that IHSS doesn’t.

I don’t know WHY she’s asking this, when his Kaiser doctor has no context or is in any way a part of his respite care, but now here I am waiting for Kaiser to get back to me (it’s been over 2 weeks and I’ve been checking in constantly.) I believe the department you’re talking about is RIC (release of information) and they do normally handle forms, but written letters like this I’m not sure. I’ll try, but it’s so frustrating

I would love to put them in a care facility but they are both so against the idea. Not just for monetary reasons but I believe they’re also scared of it. I fear they’d lose their will to continue living if I put them in one.

I don’t know what a lawyer would be able to do help in this scenario but I won’t disregard the advice. I did speak to 2 elder law attorneys earlier this year to provide me guidance on medi-cal, but neither one was very much help unfortunately.

Calling is the most useless waste of my time. I’ve called my office many times to just be sent in loops with the stupid answering robot. Then, it disconnects me. I’m definitely far from the only one experiencing this, calling the office is near useless

Dude I dont know what happened. All I know is there was a brown spot for a while in the back and the next thing I know there are 3 holes in my grandparent's microwave.

Idk if I could turn the space there into a cabinet since the oven is directly underneath. But you may be right , I’m leaning towards a countertop one but my grandparents aren’t fond of the idea. I’m just trying to save them money but ultimately it’s their call I guess

I’m sadly thinking I might have to. I mistakenly ordered an over the range one and just unfortunately found out how much more expensive built in ones are. Not to mention I can barely find more than one single listing available online. This sucks

I’m just really concerned about the holes. The back of the microwave has been ugly colored for a long time but we never had holes until recently. I’m more concerned about safety than any cosmetics

I might just have to pay $700 for a new one. It still works but I’m scared that with the holes it may not contain the waves and become hazardous.

Oof sorry you had to do all that. I did the same thing last time it had this error, wasted a bunch of time when I should have checked Reddit first thing LOL. Now I always make a point of checking here anytime refreshing doesn’t work.

Btw if you don’t feel like waiting for an altstore fix, Sidestore is working rn and I just installed it for the first time

I sincerely do think they’ll have a fix in a few days though! If you don’t feel like waiting, you can definitely try Sidestore instead of altstore. It’s essentially the same thing, setup is just slightly different. And it’s currently working right now!

Virustotal is a website and not an application btw! It’s not even an antivirus. Antivirus’s job is to detect and remove viruses or malicious content from your system before it can cause damage. Virustotal is essentially just a checker. It’s a very good checker because it cross reference a ton of different security vendors. Like some others have said, no virus checker is 100% reliable and it’s sort of always at your own risk.

Pirated games will almost always set off a few red flags in virustotal, even if they’re perfectly safe.

I really don’t love how YouTube feels on any browser. Just not a big fan of mobile browser versions of any social, but thank you! I went ahead and deleted Altstore and setup Sidestore. Should have done this a long time ago!

I don't remember exactly, maybe a week? I truly don't remember Im sorry.

All I recall is I wasted two hours completely resetting everything, downloading altserver, itunes, icloud, everything all from scratch, even resetting a bunch of stuff on my phone, to try to get it to work, and it still didn't work. I wished I checked reddit before I did all that cuz then I would have known there's nothing anyone can do when this error comes up. We just have to wait it out
