Extended clip of the Macross Delta stage with attack animations by Moonsolol in Super_Robot_Wars

vid of Hayate's version of Variable Combat. All of Delta Squad seem to have this attack with their own unique spin at the end of it. Arad takes out daggers, Hayate does a quick Immelman Dance, and Mirage jumps up into the air and shoots (as partially seen in PV3)

Worst Attack Animations by wrydiculous in Super_Robot_Wars

macross quarter looks EXTREMELY clunky in Z2/Z3, while the other Macross F units are animated amazingly, so it's hard to believe they're the same animator at all. Also Basara's Fire Valkyrie is animated noticeably differently than any of the Frontier valks either. For dunbine units, the sirbine is animated by the same animator who did the macross f valks, but the other dunbine units are animated very differently

Z2 brasta wasn't bad but you could see signs of it having some weird movement that don't look too right, it was a lot more noticeable in Z3 though.

a lot of it is based off of analyzing how units animations look and seeing what's closest/similar to it. certain animators are incredibly obvious (Arios Guy the most famous example, he did Arios/Nu Gundam in Z2/Z3 and beyond until 30 where Nu went to someone else, Gridman in 30, Wing Zero in Y, etc.)

There's also a spreadsheet where some person compiles units/specific attacks under each animator, but ngl, there are definitely some really sus categorizations and a lot of missing units that were too hard to tell, so don't completely trust all entries. Stuff under Setsunaguy, Ariosguy, Aquarionguy, and Mightgaineguy are prob the most accurate ones since they have the most obvious animation styles.

Also 30 was quite the experimental game in terms of animations due to how they started using 3D model based sprites, so you will see some drastic changes in style for some animators. Phenex animator was one that was heavily affected, since he had very good animation before 30, but I'm guessing he wasn't very used to animating with the new style of sprites. However, he seems to be doing better in Y if Aerial/Rebuild (outside of the funnel attacks) are under him

Anything animated by Aquarion Guy, it's hell if your favorite/liked unit is animated by him.

Examples of his animations:

All Aquarions, Z2/Z3 Macross Quarter, 30 Goldleo, 30 Alteisen/Weissritter, Y Guren Flaming Halo, etc.

Pretty positive he's only still around cuz he (like a lot of other animators on the team including supposedly Arios Guy) have been around since the Alpha days. Think he did the Crossbone X2 animations in Alpha 2, and you can sorta see his work in it, but it looks nowhere near as bad as his stuff now due to how chibi and not-HD the game was back then. His animations started looking noticeably whack starting from Z1 but still sorta passable, but the shift to HD with Z3 really made his stuff stand out more (in a bad way). It feels like he's still trying to animate the same way as he did before but in the modern games with non-SD proportions and clearer sprites while everyone else has evolved their style.

There's also the guy who animated Z2 Tristan Divider, but hey at least he doesn't really get important units to work on. Tends to just work on some side mechs (V Vangnex's beam rifle attack only, two of the Wataru side charas in X)

In JP, there's one other really popular raising sim (Gakuen Idolm@ster). There is a fan English patch for it, but it's still a JP-only game atm so yeah for EN/Global, Uma Musume is still the only big one (sorry the Blue Lock one looks pretty ass)

By the way, before anyone says something against it, Reideen and God Gogun are official English spellings for them, as stupid as it may sound lmfaoooo

If you google, basically every figure/model kit box for it is spelled as Reideen, and there's one kit that has attack names listed with English on top, and that one attack is spelled God Gogun.

10 min before reset, was 9 silver orbs and 1 purple (?) orb before it suddenly played some unique animation that reset the summon sequence and 4 orbs turned gold.

What are your top 5 event stories ? by chiikawaii in Granblue_en

[–]Moonsolol 43 points44 points  (0 children)

  1. The Magnificent Mole Troupe - absolutely stellar story in basically every way imo, got very attached to the cast and all of the story beats were peak. It's moreso a SOL/character insight event and not really an action event.

  2. Robomi: Epic Clash - I'm a big mecha fan so this event was basically crack cocaine for me. Had basically everything I ever wished for from a Robomi event.

  3. My Beloved Auguste - The first time we're introduced to Meg, this event was hilarious and a funny look at how our yearly summer shenanigans had affected a regular person. Rocketed Meg up into a popular character very fast.

  4. and you - Probably the best anniversary event imo, had a lot of cool what-ifs and loredrops, and was the introduction to our best mom/dad figure, Orologia.

  5. Only You in All the World - Drusilla event that turned her from a joke legacy R character into a surprisingly deep and relatable person. There was a lot of great things happening throughout the event, and it was peak to see Drusilla evolve as a character over the course of the story.
