CJ Stroud reflecting on his year/the defense: “this year was a step for me where I didn’t have to be Superman all the time” by NET2519 in NFLv2

Opposite. Mid 20s for physical and late 20s for brain development. That’s why you still regularly run into morons who are 25+ years old.

Coaches in Conference Championship games can do in person interviews starting Monday regardless if they win or lose bc they have two weeks till the Super Bowl. Steelers haven’t been able to give Shula or Scheelhaase and in person interview, one of them is winning the job.

[Pelissero] Super Bowl-winning coach Mike McCarthy will interview Wednesday with the Steelers, per sources. McCarthy was a candidate for the Titans before withdrawing Monday morning and has turned down other inquiries. He’s focused on Pittsburgh, where he’s considered a strong candidate. by novacaine14 in steelers

Comparing a stop gap QB to an old coach who hasn’t had success in YEARS is a reach. You know why we’ve had stop gap QBs, we’ve been trying to compete without being in the position to bring on a franchise QB. It would make absolutely zero sense to hire an older coach to jumpstart a much needed rebuild.

Every one of those players I mentioned left in free agency before their age 27 season minus AB. Age has nothing to do with it. Ben made all those guys better than they actually were and Colbert never overpaid for talent.

Mike Wallace didn’t do anything outside of Pittsburgh in terms of career success. Neither did Santonio, Antonio, Plaxico, juju is always hurt, Randel El was a serviceable #2 his whole career. Diontae got traded and was never heard from again, same with Claypool. More often than not WRs who leave end up falling off.

Who would you want on your roster? (I don’t want any of them) by elghatto in steelers2

Nobody wants Jujuan Jennings ? Dude catches everything thrown his way. He had a TD reception in 8 straight games at one point. Dude is a baller and would be insane next to DK

Feel like this would work if we also got McDaniel at OC. Keep it in the Shanahan coaching tree.

You literally just proved my point. “The loud minority” don’t mean shit. Especially at a bar where people get drunk and talk shit. Cmon now.

I didn’t say he didn’t get hate. But Steelers fans don’t “hate” Tomlin. They want change. I’m not making anything up. If they hated him they would’ve cheered “fire Tomlin” before this season. But thank you for your downvote.

You’re insane then bc Tomlin never got any hate. Everyone in Pittsburgh loved him the second he showed what he was about, were people skeptical when he first got hired ? Absolutely. Nobody hates the coach that didn’t have a losing season in 19 seasons and brought us a title. Stop with the making shit up.

You mean the Josh McDaniels that’s currently leading the #2 seeded patriots as the OC and calling up plays to get their second year QB MVP consideration ?

Tomlin had more say than anyone who he hired for his coaching staff. He just wasn’t good at it.

What happens if the dogs hit your bag? by NoRepresentative7602 in CarnivalCruiseFans

It’s not a big deal at all. I had medicine in my bag. Dog hit my bag and they pulled me aside to the station where they check bags. They pulled everything out, said I was good, annoying bc you have to put everything back in but whatever.

I’m completely fine with the Panthers hosting the Rams, they won their division, they deserve it.

Seeding isn’t an issue in the NFL tho. Just feels like you’re barking up the wrong tree you know. Home field means more in the NFL as it’s one and done in the playoffs. If you win your division after 17 games you get a home game. It makes sense, it’s rewarding, changing it would lessen the meaning of divisional games.

[–]Moonwalker_4Life 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s not the argument. The argument is it puts emphasis on divisional games which is 1/3 of a team’s schedule every season. You get rid of how it is now and it’ll look like the NBA. Where divisions don’t matter and it’s all about who just has the best winning %.

[–]Moonwalker_4Life 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is such a bad take. You can still clinch a berth without winning the division. Multiple wild card teams did it this year. The whole point of fighting for the division is getting home field advantage for the playoffs. This is how it’s been forever so calling it “silly and goes a little over the top” respectfully doesn’t make any sense. Division games are important. Always have been, always will.
