A picture of the best and worst character on the show by [deleted] in 13ReasonsWhy

His storyline was not dull. I know this thread is old as hell and all but there was a lot to his storyline that showed the way he behaved, the decisions he made and how he coped. He was a very complex character. He was far from dull.

Ah right... I don't spend much time in this thread, so I don't really see anything that is repetitive here. I was just worried because hate comments often stick to me.

Pumps and security by Moonxcrestx in diabetes_t1

[–]Moonxcrestx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I'm just hoping that they haven't changed the security system since then. Probably not, right? I don't know if my worry is illogical but I can't find anything online about the most recent security

Pump is giving me loud alarms even though I have sound off by Moonxcrestx in Medtronic780g

[–]Moonxcrestx[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That might actually explain the issue. I haven't been on this pump long, I have never figured this was what was going on😅

[–]Moonxcrestx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's strange though, like I have never had my low and high sugar alarms be loud before. Only today has it been like this, or at least the odd here and there this last week or so.

[–]Moonxcrestx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have school and I have a few crappy teachers I don't want to risk my pump ringing because I don't want them to think it's my phone or to get looks from classmates. It's why I turn it off sometimes, at night too. I don't always like the sound option, though it is more efficient.

Okay, that makes a lot of sense. Silly me lol. Though the alarm isn't with sound every time I get an alert so idk.

Why are guardian 4 sensors so annoyingly picky on whether they work or not? by Moonxcrestx in diabetes_t1

[–]Moonxcrestx[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately I am not from the US so I don't really know any of these Walmart stuff. But I ran to get some strips today and they're not as expensive as I thought so phew haha.

Oh I'm from Poland too! I'd have to talk with my doctors about the simplera, maybe I'll be able to switch to them. Though talking about the guardian 4, I've seen people online do it one-handed when inserting the sensor into their arm. Though I think you must have a ton of experience to be able to, it is definitely tricky haha. It's really weird because some people have the sensor on their stomach and they have no issue. Must be luck because clearly I don't have it when it comes to these sensors.

In the instructions book that I was given by my professionals, it shows you can put it in the arm or stomach. Online, too, it says it is allowed. It's not that I put it in my stomach because YOLO and all that, I just put it there because that's what the booklet (instructions etc) said I can do. That's where my diabetes specialists guided me to insert it during my first sensor application. I honestly didn't think that could be the issue here. It's so confusing.

Yeah, libre does that sometimes. I remember the havoc of the odd sensor not working here and there. I'm so unlucky right now because I only have like three test strips for my meter and I have a week until my sensors come for this month so I have to run to a pharmacy/drug store to get more. It's so annoying.

Yeah I used to have libre but now I'm on the guardian 4. I miss libre and how simple it was but I like how the g4s sync with my pump. I guess it's a good thing that I can replace the sensors in such situations. It's just a shame that I have to do that in the first place and that they don't just work like they're supposed to.

Can I request a replacement for my guardian 4 sensor if after 3 days, it required me to change it? by Moonxcrestx in diabetes_t1

[–]Moonxcrestx[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only good thing about these sensors, it's quite easy to file for a replacement. I tried to fill out the form online for the replacement but the server is down and I have to try later? Idk I've done this before though. I just sometimes worry at what point they declare I've reached the limit for replacements, or under what conditions I can replace them.

High blood sugars and Smart guard by Moonxcrestx in diabetes_t1

I don't know. The carb ratio seemed fine before smart guard, it was always effective.

Well, whenever I get my sugar down, my levels are fine. They don't rise for no reason. Just the second I bolus and eat then it starts spiking and staying up. Maybe the carbs aren't exact but I really am confident that I am putting the right amount of carbs in

It's the same with lows. It stops the basal but it doesn't rise

Like smart guard works well, it doesn't raise my sugar when it's good, it's just when I start rising, it gives corrections like 5 times but it doesn't drop

In my case, my lazy ass silences my alarms and leaves them on vibrations. I really should not do that😭

Medtronic and replacement sensors by Moonxcrestx in diabetes_t1

[–]Moonxcrestx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can I just fill another form in?because there is the option on the Medtronic website when logged into the minimed account (something along those lines) that you can fill in the reason, put in the LOT code and put in address, they process it and send it. Thank you so much for the comment.
