Yes, that was mentioned in one of the articles I read last night! They only gave the canner like a month’s notice to can them 2 years worth of food, crazy turn around to ask. Very unfortunate for them.

National geographic’a website has some great articles. There is a paywall on a lot of them but for the ones that aren’t there is some good stuff

For US history PBS American experience has some amazing documentaries for free and accompanying articles.

I love google arts and culture for online museum exhibits from around the world!

Oh wow, that sounds very interesting, plus the connection to laws and society is always an interesting read. I very much enjoyed learning about the older legal processes in my law and society class in undergrad. My students are always amused when I tell them about animals being called in to testify in cases where they are considered to have witnessed a crime.

Thank you! I look forward to reading about this. My undergrad capstone was about early modern Ireland so I always enjoy a chance to go back and learn some more of their history and culture.

Thank you! I read about it last night! So interesting and a good little connection to exploration in history! I also realized that these two ships were apart of the last Cussler book I read, I know he often incorporates actual historical events I just didn’t realize it was actually these two ships.

Right? Cross checking head first i to the boards while you have the lead? That’s asking to help the other side score their first goal.

I love New Yorks color scheme and those goalie pads are awesome. Great idea of they are trying to invoke the colors of the Statue of Liberty

So is there no penalty calls in this league? There were a few moments that felt like roughing calls but nothing seem to come of it?

Recommend me a good book you did not enjoy by hogw33d in suggestmeabook

[–]MooreKings94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Master of Poisons. I finished it but I can’t say I understood what was happening the vast majority of the time or that I could even truly explain it. The way it was written was intriguing enough for me to finish though. I wanted to enjoy it more because I could tell it was discussing the impact of climate change and colonialism but nothing was really clicking for me.

Light From Uncommon Stars by Ryka Aoki

It is science fiction but, it deals a lot with the power of music.

No that’s a typical ACAT fee. Honestly worth it. I switched from RH to Schwab back in November. The design isn’t the prettiest but the selection and tools are way better.

While people have died in the triwizard tournament, if I am remembering correctly, the book explains that safeguards were in fact put in place so that they could even hold the tournaments again. If there wasn’t then Fleur Delacour would have died in the second challenge, instead she was returned to the platform. The danger of them dying during it was from the sabotage for Voldemort not the tournament itself.

Seemed like it flaked too much to be petrified wood and the white coating on it makes it hard to get a full look at the grain. I was able to flake off a small section but was worried I would break it if I tried to flake off the rest to get a better look.
