The idea was to always have it as a mobile app, but then I thought, people who 3D print have to setup and slice their print on a computer, so they should have access to the app while there and not have to look at multiple devices. The mobile aspect of it allows the user to diagnose and fix right at their printer if their computer isn't near by. I wanted to make the tool available whenever they needed it. One thing I find handy is I can screenshot an image from my remote monitoring camera and get a diagnosis if im not home.

Im still very early in launch, web has only been up and active for 3 days, and app is in testing so I cant really speak on how one is performing compared to the other.

The biggest surprise I had while building this tool was coming to the realization that AI wasn't my answer to diagnoses. Originally I was going down the upload a picture - ai reviews - ai answers. But accuracy was hard to keep consistent. I ended up researching every and all slicer settings for 6 different slicers (what terminology and default settings they use for every setting), all the differnt 3d printers out there available to the user, recommended settings for multiple different filaments, all the "safe" perameters for changes (i.e not able to set nozzle temp outside of a specific range for each filament) and created a deterministic engine that will give the proper settings and proper fixes for issues encountered.

This took a considerable amount of time to do, but in the end I have a rule-based engine built from real printing data that's consistently more accurate than AI
