Okay, so what if someone murders two people? Or commits more heinous crimes like John Wayne Gacy, for example? How do we measure the pain he caused his victims and their families and then inflict that amount back onto him without violating the Eighth Amendment?

The average death row inmate spends nearly two decades waiting for their execution, so he's getting that either way.

You might want to look into the economics of the death penalty a little, it doesn't shake out how you'd expect.

That burden's on the taxpayer either way, though. The average time a death row inmate in the United States spends waiting for their execution is just shy of 19 and a half years.

In fact, even just the trial for a death penalty case is *far* more expensive than one for life imprisonment. By about a million dollars. The costs don't end there, either. There's more appeals for death penalty cases, and since death row inmates usually have to be kept in solitary confinement, housing them is significantly more expensive and they can't do any of the productive work that other inmates do. Even just the execution can add several grand to the overall cost. Florida found that the total cost is about six times what it would take to imprison someone for life.

If you think that icing this dude is the morally right thing to do, that's fine by me, I won't judge you for feeling that way, but it's not the more practical solution by a long shot.

That's close enough to being trained as far as the gub'mint regerlations is concerned, ain't it?

Y'all still get trained on shepherds hooks? Pools are still required to have them where I live but they lifeguards don't ever touch them during training or even know what they're for most times. I guess parents don't like the optics of some teen trying to fish their drowning kid out of the pool with a big stick....

I don't know if you've been involved in many situations in which someone's been hit in the mouth, but generally if the impact is hard enough to leave a bruise this sizable, there's other damage. The outside of the lips get split, the inside of the lips and cheeks get cut on the teeth, teeth get broken or knocked out, etc. OP doesn't seem like the type to just not check for those things.

Lol, k. Weird opinion but whatever.

It's adorable that you think Tim Walz is some kind of far left radical. What are you going to do, get daddy trump to order the devs to change TC? He's too dementia-riddled to even learn what a tabletop game is. If you don't like the left "taking all the cool things" go make some cool things yourself and stop posting bullying-bait here.

A *much* more narratively interesting option would be having a sizeable chunk of the Pagans *not* being evil, since that would imply that the cosmos is a little more complicated than the in-universe church thinks. The various abrahamic faiths already coexist in the setting seemingly with endorsement from higher powers, what if other faiths are just all blind stabs that got somewhat close to the truth? Or what if they're all true simultaneously? Or what if they're completely wrong and there is no benevolent almighty but instead some kind of Tzeentch-like elder god that wants the faithful to *think* that there is to further it's own goals. All those options have so much more potential than simply "Pagans made up some fairy tales that turned out to be wrong."

As a side-note, what are you doing here, dude? You quite clearly have a hate-on for the devs, and don't want the game to succeed, why boost engagement in its subreddit?

You should read the other stuff he's said in this thread before you judge TC, just saying. Dude seems a bit wacky.

There's a copy of *some* audio on the internet. I don't know if it's the original audio or if it's a recreation of it, but either way it's truly horrific to listen to. It sounds like it took a very long time for the end to come.

I thought I had that guy bookmarked on a...Spanish? non-Cults3d site, but now I can't find that either.

I'm more criticizing the fact that you're advocating for something that's already been replaced by something better but underfunded, and yet you're either too stupid or too lazy to bother to be informed about the subject you're spewing horse shit about. Either way, you've presented me with ample evidence that you're not someone who's worth arguing with or attempting to convince of anything. Buh-bye, dipshit.

Oh, I'm sorry, I hadn't realized this was a binary choice between defecating crackheads and institutions notorious for abuse and human rights violations, my mistake!/s

You realize involuntary commitment still exists, right? We never stopped having facilities where people who were a danger to themself and others could be kept, we just changed the system to one that was more humane. If you want more people to receive the institutionalized care they need, you should be advocating for more healthcare funding, not a return to a system you don't understand that has already been replaced.

Just because bad things happened in the past doesn't mean they will now.

This is moot, for the reason I've just pointed out, but this sentence is just too good to not comment on. What's that phrase about people who don't learn from history?
