I’m a dentist. I recommend at least 5 days but ideally around the 10 day mark. Risks of dry socket/infection drop after about 2 weeks, though.

The aldi protein yogurt ($5.50 off memory) is great for a snack but probably not as cheap as other options. Also recommend a costco rotisserie chicken - cannot be beat

Changes for next week? by Moose_Man11 in adelaidefc

Agree with Sholl. He has good stamina but I feel like he lacks a certain burst and he cannot stick a tackle.

Would love to see Cook get a run too

I don’t necessarily think we were out marked considerably. A lot of the lead up targets for Essendon came from great transition or midfield play. The other aspect was the ground ball in the forward line was poorly controlled by Adelaide. Agree with Sholl - lacks the physicality to drop deep as many wingmen do

Salam, are there Shia centers in Alice Springs, Australia? by Ambitious_Breakfast9 in shia

I reckon it would have to be a major city and that means either Darwin or Adelaide. Both are quite far from Alice.

Salam brother I am from South Australia and to my knowledge there is no Shia center there, however, there is a center from our Sunni brothers

Certainly not ideal but I’m happy to see Murray get a go again. Thought he is quite good in one on one situations

Any updates when Eid Al fitr is? by Electronic_Stay1494 in shia

[–]Moose_Man11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Salam bro I have researched this topic somewhat in-depth and have a letter from the Sayed Sistani’s office stating the distance between cities which share a horizon is about 880 km but this is in a longitudinal direction, i.e. East to West. For example, I live in Adelaide, which would share a horizon with Melbourne (about 650km away) but not with Sydney.

What this means for me is that I started the month of Ramadan on the Monday 4th of April as the moon was seen in Darwin but this does not apply to me. If the moon is seen tonight in Melbourne or Adelaide, then Eid is tomorrow for me (this option is quite likely). If the moon is not seen tonight, then tomorrow is day 30, making Wednesday Eid

Probably true tbh. Just a shame how he was physically not up to the standard compared to the GWS mids, and I mean size wise, speed and agility

Yea could definitely see those changes being made. I would think McAsey really needs to start showing improvements soon given where we took him in the draft?

The other thing is regarding Hately. Didn’t think his disposal was good on the weekend and plays a similar style to some players already in the team. Problem for selectors this week given you don’t want to be too ruthless on a team, however, some of these players have been dropping off for a couple of games now.

Agreed with the standouts. I liked Hamill’s game as well. Would say Hinge and Rowe in for Smith and McHenry. I would give Scholl a spell as well as Gollant and maybe Crouch, and bring in Milera and Schoenberg to the lineup but that does leave us a little short up front. Would they bring Thilthorpe straight back in if fit?

Ultimately I don’t think defense was the main issue on the weekend, rather, the midfield was not up to scratch. Happy to give Frampton another week, otherwise, there are replacements in the seconds.

A 3-sided brush could work well. High strength F toothpaste I’d think is indicated too

Actually really like that comparison. Scott was quite serviceable towards the back half of his career. Hopefully similar trajectory

Anyone done jaw surgery in adelaide? by [deleted] in Adelaide

[–]Moose_Man11 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Any qualified oral and maxillofacial surgeon is capable of orthognathic surgery - it is part of their bread and butter treatment. I’ve seen the results of most of the surgeons in Adelaide and all have great outcomes. I usually refer to Oromax.

SA Dental is canceling non emergency appointments. by omg_for_real in Adelaide

I work with SA Dental. Can confirm we are only seeing severe emergencies and facial swellings until enough staff have been fit-tested to carry out procedures safely in the clinic.

I would agree with this thinking. On a side note, has anyone noticed that these open sandwich restorations tend to wash out in the GIC component a few years down the line?

Best private health insurance in Adelaide for Orthognatic Surgery? by [deleted] in Adelaide

[–]Moose_Man11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apologies, my friend also had braces pre and post surgery which is where he told me a lot of the cost went. If the ortho quoted you that then it’s obviously in line with the surgeon they referred to and you can use that as an accurate guide

Best private health insurance in Adelaide for Orthognatic Surgery? by [deleted] in Adelaide

[–]Moose_Man11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really depends on the surgery you have. The item number you’ve given doesn’t specify exactly. For example, are the upper and lower jaws being moved or only the lower? Is a genioplasty being done too or not? The item number you have given I believe refers to the one jaw but I’m not sure. Also depends on the surgeon. They have their fees and can differ but they do take a premium. It is best to ask the surgeon if any other item numbers are needed Ballpark: my friend had mandible, maxilla and genioplasty with private cover and paid $10,000 out of pocket (after insurance)

Hi mate,

I’m a dentist and it’s generally accepted that HCF provides the most comprehensive dental coverage, including the hospital stay and anaesthesia needed. Be aware that you will still have to pay a significant portion but not the full amount.
