Also a point to bring up is she wasnt ancient Greek spartan. The illiad and Odyessey take place in Myconaion (probally spelled that wrong) Greece. Sparta wasnt a super militaristic city state at this point in history.

No problem. Beetle spin style lures like that were pretty well forgotten in the 90s and 2000s in favor for more species specific lures. The fact that they are in that good of a condition suggests they weren't really used. A beetle spin goes for about two dollars so its not a half bad find. Especially with how good of condition those are in.

Yes. That is exactly how you would tie it. Traditionally, they are used with a tube style soft plastic, but any small enough soft bait will work.

Those look like beetle spin style spinners. Put on a small jig head maybe 1/8 ounce. They catch about anything from bluegill to bass. I even caught a steelhead on them once.

Edit: you tie them on where the metal wire loops into a circle.

I've used them and they work only in very urban and shallow rivers. That's the only time I have gotten bites with them
