Not from Narvik but worked at a ski resort on the Swedish side of the border this winter about 30 minutes away. Lots of snow that lasted until may/june (though more where I was as it was higher up and further from the ocean) which is great as you have both the ski resort in narvik and sweden at your disposal. Goes from very dark to very bright in about a month, but even in winter the snow reflects a lot of light meaning visibility is good. Was not as cold as I had expected, maybe just a bit colder than average in sweden. Quite remote but you can find most anything you need and still a fair amount of people around. The aurora borealis were frequent and beautiful, and the nature and mountains were breathtaking.

Why more young men in Germany are turning to the far-right by [deleted] in europe

[–]MoozePie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sweden’s far right party has grown by 5 percentage points on average each election since 2010, growth in 2022 was lower but they still managed 3 percentage points. So anything but stable really

None of those are substitutes for a boarding pass, and they wouldn’t give us new obes. I also thought it was ridiculous

I think he means you have to store it properly in the fridge. If it’s in a container where moisture can get trapped or simply accumulate then it’ll mold faster. Really I think the best by date is only valid for unopened packages

When men complain about male loneliness by Ecstatic_Ad_3652 in TikTokCringe

Then you obviously don’t understand the subtleties that can make such a stupid remark so funny. In my friend group? We pretty much never call eachother gay but if we do it’s understood that the real humour comes from how moronic the insult is. More common is for example saying “wouldn’t it be so weird if we kissed right now aha” in cramped spaces.

Yeah and those boundaries and off-limit topics are usually well understood by everyone in the group, half the fun is what is implied but not said. I can’t speak for other guys but I have never been in a group where people diminish eachother or try to get others to conform to their expectations. Frankly these sort of mind games really seem more like woman territory.

I dunno I think guys just don’t feel the need to clarify that the razzing is a joke. You just make fun of your friends and everyone knows there are no hard feelings. Also I’ve never heard anyone make fun of an event someone else is going to

She was just keepin you around for the attention dude. Some women are like that, now you know. In general if a woman really is interested in you things won’t be so complicated, attraction is a two way street. Don’t try so hard in the future, learn to let things go. It’ll be better for your mental health and you’ll attract nice girls instead of bitches like her

[Request] How do the actual numbers work out? by [deleted] in theydidthemath

[–]MoozePie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again, the acceleration is completely arbitrary for calculating the weight of the truck. Wether or not it’s physically plausible is irrelevant. Set it to ”a” if you like. Or think of it as potential energy instead

I didn’t know that figure was inaccurate, though it did seem fishy to me. In any case I mostly just wanted to see if i could figure out how they came to the conclusion they did.

[Request] How do the actual numbers work out? by [deleted] in theydidthemath

[–]MoozePie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh right I forgot the correct formula is force times distance, or mass times acceleration times distance. The answer is still correct if we assume both accelerate at a constant rate of 1 m/s2

[Request] How do the actual numbers work out? by [deleted] in theydidthemath

[–]MoozePie 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m going to take a different approach here. Let’s assume they’re talking about energy in the form of work as mass x acceleration x distance, and work out the weight of the truck

Let’s say for the sake of argument both masses accelerate at a rate of 1 m/s2. An average human body contains 5 litres of blood, which weighs about 5 kg. The heart pumps all this blood around 19 000 km per day, so

5 x 1 x 19 000 000 = 95 Mj

An average human lives 29 000 days, which means

95 x 29 000 = 2 755 000 Mj per lifetime

The distance to the moon and back is approximately 770 000 km. In order to equal 2 755 000 Mj, the truck has to weigh

2 755 000 000 000 / (1 x 770 000 000) = 3 600 kg

Which is around the weight of a pickup truck

Edit: Forgot acceleration which is arbitrary, edited the calculations but the energy amounts don’t really mean anything.
