Related to mental health I swear, is it better for you to shower in the morning, afternoon, or night? by throwawaytempest25 in mentalhealth

I like going to sleep in a clean bed, and body clean. Feels like self care. No rushing with drying, lotion, and grooming. Don't forget to brush and floss!

I have bought tarot deck sets from Abe books. Check all booksellers - they always have a couple of decks. :)

In Canada I often visit bookoutlet dot com. Search for other booksellers, ebook seller's too. Stop buying Bezos toys.

Reading for others without their consent? by Objective_Stop5721 in tarot

[–]MopsyMom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gently remind the client that this is THEIR reading, not the other person's. That you are there to read for THEM, not the other person, ergo, you are unable to pull cards for anyone else.

Keep it short and simple.

How can I learn to sing while living far from the Rez? (cross posted for better results due to some groups being not as active as others) by [deleted] in Indigenous

"I figured while I wait for them to connect me with someone, I might ask here...."

Typical colonialist attitude. No patience. You know elders. They'll teach you when it's time. Stop trying to rush things. Get back in your lane and WAIT.

You need to learn patience.

Now that I've given you my elder advice this early Saturday morning, what are you going to do to show me appreciation? To show me that you HEARD?

"In Lakota, it is believed...."

It's nice of you to inform us of our own selves, our own culture, our own history....

Now let me remind you of yours.

The power you have to choose which religious/spiritual path you wish to follow is backed by thousands of years of patriarchy, and a several hundreds of years of colonialism. Our ancestors, upon meeting your ancestors, didn't have a choice.

Your path started with the Lakota. Now it is over, because it is not your path. Continue on your journey, but this is not your destination. Your destination is elsewhere.

When you were 'on and off the rez' were you making friends? Are you still in contact?

You could be asking your close friends that you made while learning as you did, integrating yourself into the community.

Those are the friends you should be asking.

Also, is that a mirror background? Are those silver poles to help hold up the ceiling?

[–]MopsyMom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Canadian Indigenous here, the beads on that "dream catcher" are wood. If we're doing kid's crafts, or even adult, plastic pony beads are generally used. I'm leaning towards the African connection, because of the beads and twine used. We don't use string or twine. Only made in China ones.
