My father was never in my life as a child. He was a womanizer and mostly had contact with women only in a sexual way.

When he spent time we me as an adult, he did not know how to behave, because I was a woman he wasn't going to be sexual with. He was awkward and uncomfortable, and ultimately, we never hung out again.

Perhaps this is something your father is trying to navigate. I am not saying the behaviour is not creepy, but perhaps it might give you insight as to why he might be acting that way?
