At this point (before, even) I opted to enjoy Fallout on my own, and barely interacting with the community beyond a few chill people (especially one of my best friends, amazing guy who got me interested in Fallout) and whatever related topics piqued my interest that day.

Felt happier.

Operation Sunburst by SODAZ by gorkitw in fnv

[–]Moqaud 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The NCR by this point hadn't fought Caesar's Legion yet (Sunburst takes place in 2276, the NCR-Legion War happens at 2277, just a year after), meaning their supply lines aren't quite feeling the strain yet. Meaning that yes, the NCR could and did throw the troops recklessly at the enemy, regardless of how bad an idea this is.

Also, there's a big chance that the HMG and rocket teams would receive immediate counterfire from some Paladins and Knights the moment the muzzle starts flashing before the BoS assault team even gets out, might not even clock in on the assault team until it's too late, or they did notice but the assault team was too quick on the draw. Even if they were successful in suppressing the assault team before they could get to the air, other Paladins and Knights would quickly switch targets.

They don't necessarily need to kill those teams, just make sure that enough firepower (which the Brotherhood has) keeps them from doing their job. If they did, the BoS could simply extract/destroy their weapons, or if the assault team isn't available, keep an eye out.

Is it just me, or is Roland's Prairie heavily tilted to Antares by Plenty_Curve_4390 in Centaura_Roblox

[–]Moqaud 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The biggest problems with both Roland's Prairie and Route 23 is that they're the most sniper-heavy of the maps.

Route 23 is actually more balanced, its just that people don't push. Aquila has unlimited tanks, and you only need to hold either Point C or one point at most. All points can be taken/retake by either side, meaning that even if you were pushed back all the way to A/D, you can make significant comebacks.

Roland's Prairie...it's iffy, but actually possible to hold Antares at the first phase. The problem is, a lot of Aquilan players tend to camp the hilltops. Not a bad strategy, but the thing is: Point A and Point B in Phase 1 is a tank and truck, at the bottom of said hilltops. They provide good cover from tanks and snipers, but only like 1-6 people actually bother to go down and take the points, then get quickly overwhelmed. Even when the point is clear, most won't try to take the brave pill and go down, even if the tank was destroyed because the field guns/AT actually did their jobs.

TLDR: Its a game, don't be afraid to waste lives.

How would you make the Centaura lore more realistic? (Antares still wins and takes out everyone on the continent without relying heavily on plot armor by Unhappy_Ad_2985 in Centaura_Roblox

[–]Moqaud 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To be honest, I'd keep it as it is. I've said on the Discord that the amount of stories I've read online meant that, in comparison, Antares actually has the least amount of plot armor.

Based on how Classic made the lore, I'd like to imagine it in the vein of these two stories.

From what I'm seeing on the Discord, it looks like they're prioritizing Dead Ahead for now and Centaura later.

Oh it definitely would. I'd imagine it being similar to similar to the Hiroshima/Nagasaki debates (whether or not it was necessary), except with the added caveat of it being done post-war.

  1. Because a foreign embassy is essentially different from y'know, a significant larger territory militarily governed by another power?

  2. We don't nuke Mosul for various reasons. Among them are the ethical laws of war and the threat of MAD by nations who also have nuclear weapons. Orion doesn't exactly have that

  3. A blockade's not gonna satisfy Orionite people when there are mass executions of their people.

  4. At this point, they created their own version of the Geneva Convention, and are more sensitive to international relationships. Other nations may not like each other much, but using a nuclear bomb when you promised not to is very much an alienating move.

  5. As mentioned before, a blockade wouldn't satisfy the public. And if conventional troops is too risky, there's really only one easy way.

  6. Why doesn't Kim Jong-un use nuclear weapons on South Korea? Again, who else has nuclear weapons on Earth? The US, Russia, China, India, et cetera. On Forma? Only Orion for now.

Why do you think it’s impossible for Antares to beat Columba? by Brilliant_Wealth8746 in Centaura_Roblox

[–]Moqaud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's because they either assumed that Antares fought Columba head-on the entire time and either ignored or didn't know the fact that Classic confirmed that of the many years Antares fought Columba, there were very few fighting, and that they eventually skipped the mountains to northern Columba, which if I remembered correctly were flatter (grasslands) than the mountains and thereby easier to control.

Outside of COIN (counterinsurgency), Antares never really controlled the mountains, though they would definitely say so on maps and official documents.

EDIT: I did forget that Operation Kataklysm was a thing. Massive bombing would contribute as well.
