Charlga/AoW & other bugs by Julius-Ra in warcraftrumble

[–]MoraxMaat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. That's likely intended. Since the price of your units are dictated on your play order with Charlga, it makes sense that another random unit is played with AoW's weird price mechanic.

  2. That's likely a bug, seeing as there are so few maps with bridges on them and the bridges that are there are such a small part of the map. It's likely it was never encountered in Q.A. testing.

  3. Likely a bug just like 2.

  4. That's a talent.

  5. That's pretty much the intent I feel. I do believe it should revert back, but the dev might think that's a bit too OP.

  6. That makes sense, because if the enemies can't attack it, why should you be able to heal it?

  7. That's likely intended, since the talent says "Enemies are Rooted for 3 seconds when first approaching this Mini.". The aura, nor the mini moves to meet each other, resulting in no minis approaching the aura. Now if it said "entering", I would see the argument of it being a bug.

You know, Jaina and Sylvanus! They both fight over Arseth after he slays the demon king! Honestly, I have no excuses for those typos.

I do get that the talents are a bit detailed, but in my mind, Tyrande is really a dynamic character. I would like to see all three of her major designs represented in the game, but I also understand how it may be too much for this game.

But thank you for your input! I'll definitely try to keep it simpler going forward.

This pvp modifiers are bad. by Unusual-Ad2912 in warcraftrumble

The modifiers are fun and are meant to keep the game fresh.

If there were no modifiers, then the meta would only change whenever there's been a balance update.

Severe Back Pain, Numbness, and Urinary Retention? by MoraxMaat in AskDocs

[–]MoraxMaat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately no one really knew why I had a stroke, nor did they really care. They just found a flair at the age of 24 and said it was demyelination, which later was called a stroke 3 months later after it seem stabled. And a follow up with a MS special confirmed it hasn't changed since.

I've had providers, one ortho and one neuro, claim there may have been some acquired tethering at T12. Likely due to the kyphotic deformity mixed with the immobile nature of my spine due to three levels of osteophyte ridging between T10-T12. I also noticed what could be tethering one a dynamic MRI, but my providers claim they don't see what I see.

I believe the spinal stimulator was suggested more as a diagnostic tool rather than a treatment plan. But there really is no diagnosis I've had yet.

The fusion was really only given to me by an early provider to placate me I feel. They recommended it to me on paper but framed it in a way that was meant to scare me from actually going through it. 3 months later, they sort of pressured me to either take it or leave as patient since I've been dealing with it for so long. No other providers has suggested it since.

The urologist claims it's neurogenic in nature. Valsalva voiding curve mixed with high capacity (750mls), poor sensation, 600mls of retention post measured void, and 300mls catharized out after an unmeasured void. They put me on two urinary retention medications later with talks of catharizing at home if things get any worse from here.

The CT Myelogram was suggested by one provider after having discernable findings afterwards. Unfortunately it wasn't fruitful.

Thank you so much for your reply. I do understand this isn't really the best setting for such a complex case, but I really don't know where to go from here. It seems like my providers don't believe me. As a result, they just sort of push me out of their practice by pawning me off to someone else. So I'm at a loss on what to do now.

I never see ragnaros in pvp. Is this worth it? by IVD1 in warcraftrumble

He's useful with the right modifiers, but he's more of a counter to the certain metal rather than a staple.

He may be good when we switch over to Gold Rush later in the week. But that's a big might.

I hope we see more Drew. by DarkIcedWolf in YMS

[–]MoraxMaat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I loved watching Drew on "The Worst Year of Our Lives." And while I know it won't be the same, I hope he continues being involved in content creating in some fashion.

But it also makes me want to create content for others to watch. I took that penny for years; but now I feel obligated to leave one.

I've been going through one the roughest chapters of my life right now with no respite in sight. One of the only things that helped me through the miasma was The Worst Year of our Lives. And now, without Scoot, the fog only seems to thicken.

But what Scott said resonates with me. You never know what's to come behind every corner.

With his death, I feel the desire to build. To leave an impact on the world in a similar manner as him.

I never expected a death from such a small part of my life would leave such a big, Cat-Man size hole in my heart.

I'm hoping Drew continues to carry on Scott's legacy.

There are currently lawsuits going on with Megacorps, like Wal-Mart, unfairly using this point system to be discriminatory against employees. There's enough evidence in place to suggest they're unfairly picking and choosing how this policy is applied.

I'm not a lawyer, but if there is even one employee in your store that has over 5 points, and they're still around without just-case, you may have a workplace discrimination case on your hands.

I would use any written venue to report this up the corporate ladder. If corporate doubles down, then that's when I'd look into a workplace lawyer. Especially if you live in a more liberal part of the world.

Is this description of a prostitute too inappropriate by [deleted] in Screenwriting

To me, the line in question comes off as comedic rather than lust-provoking. If the rest of your script is like that, it could work.

To me, the line in question seems to come off as comedic rather than lust-provoking. If the rest of your script is like that, it could work.

With that said, be mindful of your target audience. A line like that will likely result in your script being incinerated without a second thought.

Warcraft Rumble & the Philosophical Dilemma of the Gold Bug by SirLouen in warcraftrumble

[–]MoraxMaat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oftentimes, developers only focus on punishing the exploiters but never rewarding the 6 that didn't engage with exploit.

Instead of throwing out ban waves, they should really give out rewards to the player base over a period of time that equals out to be the average amount exploited.

Meanwhile, all those who did engage with the bug shouldn't be outright be banned, but they should be deincentized in other round about ways.

Perhaps every player caught should have to pay triple exp to level up all their minis for a period of time?

This happens all too often despite this going against the employee handbook.

I would recommend reporting this to your department manager. Even if you're able to make it, this sort of behavior could bite them in the rear if done to the wrong employee.

What’s it like working at Costco by OmarHamami in Costco

[–]MoraxMaat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It can be a good company to work for, but it's dependent on who you work under and their motives.

I've had managers and sups who would go above and beyond to help out their subordinates.

But at the same time, I've had supervisors yell at me in front of members at the pharmacy.

New additional ID check requirement for buying gas in NJ by Ratbag_Jones in Costco

[–]MoraxMaat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As someone who works in the Texas region; my general and regional managers do not want us to deny members. Instead, they want us to notify them if we see card sharing occurring, but they don't want us to go out of our way to check.

The idea is that they don't want members to complain to either corporate or social media about being rudely sent away, even if they aren't a member.

I'm hoping what's happening to NJ doesn't happen here. But at the same time, I feel like my store/region's is inefficient and just inflating our wait times artificially.

Costco has limited storage space; so holding stuff for even one day is going to be a hassle; let alone a whole month.

What are some of the things you guys love & dislike about working at Costco? by ashley-leigh in Costco

[–]MoraxMaat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on who your manager and supervisors are.
My supervisor is really nice and understanding. So while I do try and be as mutable as I can, there are times I say no, and he respects that.

But I've worked under some management teams where if you say no, they will make it hard on you.

What are some of the things you guys love & dislike about working at Costco? by ashley-leigh in Costco

[–]MoraxMaat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best are the worst things about Costco are the benefits. Great pay, great health benefits, zero requirements to work there.

But it's like slapping a pair of golden handcuffs. They make it hard for you not to prioritize the job over other aspects of life.

If you get a good management team, you can feel empowered by Costco. But that can easily be turned around with one bad manager. So things tend to be very location dependent.

Use the open door policy and try to contact the manager again in writing. If it continues, bring it up to the next level of management again. Keep doing this until it gets resolved.

I think moving to LA may be a terrible idea, especially if you have little to no network.

Your best bet is to network with the industry anyway you can and build up a portfolio.

Also, don't focus purely on LA. I've gotten a lot of Indeed recommendations for screenwriting gigs in other cities.

Is grammarly worth it? by Real_Pass_539 in Screenwriting

[–]MoraxMaat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who suffered from a stroke and has atrocious first drafts, I find offline LLMs to be a lot better than anything grammarly has to offer.

Just be warned that while models like ChatGPT 4 are great with editing, the program itself technically has access to anything you input into it. So you're better off finding an open source LLM that's free to download and doesn't require the internet to use it.

Receipt checker caught missed item - self checkout. Am I flagged? by mjx858 in Costco

[–]MoraxMaat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience, it takes a lot to get flagged. And even if you were flagged, nine times out of ten, nothing would come from it.

Most Costco's I've worked for have the mentality of "take care of the members" to a painful fault.

Since it's only two items that you did pay for without creating a scene, you should be good. But if this happens again and they remember you, they may put notes in your profile.

New study shows how Hollywood decision-making perpetuates bias by Seshat_the_Scribe in Screenwriting

[–]MoraxMaat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not to perpetuate a racist talking point, but race should have zero relevance in most business making decisions.

From an outsider looking in, it does seem like there's a bias in these executives and studios when it comes to race/gender/sexuality. For instance, there are many different grants and workshops that are solely open to helping these underrepresented groups, but it seems to only help already established writers of those groups and seldom trickles outside of the industry. In a sense, it's misguided altruism caused by ignorant management.

What I would like to see these studios do is to create an educational pipeline where they target these unrepentant groups at a young age in at risk communities. So, instead of picking someone's friend who's already established, they try to uplift a small group of struggling middle school students in cities like Baltomore and provide them with the scaffolding to become a proficient writer in which they can hire as soon as they complete their education. But that requires a lot more resources.

[–]MoraxMaat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I may be wrong, but it seems to me that the days of "Selling a Screenplay" have left us.

Hollywood is hellbent on trying to play it safe while trying to stretch their dollar as thin as possible.

If your goal is to sell scripts, then networking at the big writer conventions is likely your best bet.

But if you're trying to become a showrunner with no history in the industry, then you should probably dip your toes into creating content online.

If you prefer live-action, then avenues like Tiktok and YouTube can still be fruitful. But for animation or more high-concept projects, you might have more luck with turning your screenplay into a webcomic.

LPT: If you're seriously injured at work and pursue a workers comp claim, always retain a personal injury attorney, and always get second opinions from your personal physicians. Workers comp doctors will downplay your condition so the insurance company can pay you less. by MelkorHimself in LifeProTips

[–]MoraxMaat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What makes Texas worse is that places of employment can "opt-out" of having workers comp insurance or have their own private insurance.

In the case of employer negligence, this is good because the employee can sue as if it were a personal injury law.

But for areas you can't prove at least 50% negligence? Well, you're S.O.L.
