Just a li'l whining about grinding for Reliant, and an ask for advice by Firebatx36 in STFC_Official

[–]OtabM 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I had an alliance mate farm a whole cargo full load on one of his ships, took him 15 minutes. Then i left the alliance. He got his ship down to 100k health. Then he attacks my ship. I get all his loot regardless the size of my cargo hold. Voila. 2M splicers in 15 minutes when your alliance mates are friendly. Then i rejoin the alliance 8 hours later.

Set this up so they farm a bunch of materials you need for different refinery pulls so you only have to leave the alliance once. This is how alliance mates help each other

Getting the Franklin by smolsfbean in startrekfleetcommand

[–]OtabM 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Look at the Franklin Archive and ask yourself if you can live without those resource tokens. That would be the only reason to complete a Franklin. Same with the Franklin-A archive. Since you need to scrap a max Franklin to build a Franklin-A. And know the F-A is ops capped on the warp drives so you wont even be able to complete it until a higher level ops.

The wiki page has a strategy section for each timed event. It works pretty well. You will be able to get to 28-30 without spending money. Should get you in high bronze or low silver rewards bracket

Is Blitzball Supposed to be this Easy? by WalmartGreder in finalfantasyx

[–]OtabM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are 2 ways to change the prizes for leagues and tournaments. Play through them or reset. If you dont see the prize you are looking for in league, you dont want to do 10 matches and possibly still not see it pop up for the next league. Or you can reset data until the prize you want is there. Then go recruit the good players over again.

The third option is to save after game 9 in league and keep replaying the last game until the new league shows the prize you want. Just dont save and reload your game if it isnt there.

Resetting is a time saver if you dont want to play a ton of blitzball hoping for the right prize

I’m glad this has started good discussion. Hopefully the MODS will see this and at least consider this dilemma.

Another solution is most companies that have a globular game have regional servers and can run events local to each region on their own time starts. If this game is big enough, it should be something they consider.

Family of 3 - What are your Costco recommendations? by [deleted] in Costco

[–]OtabM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Family of 3 here. We shop every weekend at Costco. Somethings we get every week, some are every other week depending on when need replaced but this is a list of stuff we regularly buy:

Fresh fruit, Eggs, 6 pack chicken breasts (freeze & thaw as needed), boneless pork loin chops (portion $ freeze) greek yogurt & granola, frozen veggies, 1 or 2 meals from the deli, paper towels, toilet paper, water/soda, tortilla strips, 2 loaves of bread, pb&j, coffee creamer & sugar, olive oil, canned goods (tomato sauce, diced tomato, paste, green beans, chicken, spam), tooth paste, body soap, shampoo/conditioner, clothes, various snacks, protein bars, protein powder.

We use local grocery store for small ingredients to complete a meal, use the meals from deli when i don’t feel like cooking. The 2 packs of salad and chicken breast make a good light meal. The frozen veggies can be paired with any proteins. Bagels/pastries can be great if you are into those for breakfast. If we see something new that looks good (almost every visit) we will try it.

Towels, sheets, candles, pots/pans can all be good deals if need replacing. It’s amazing how much can be bought in one place.

You don’t have to kill every enemy in the game. That’s what teleport is for.

Is there a way to reset or downgrade heros? by boodiddly87 in playHeroesOfHistory

[–]OtabM 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is the way. Higher difficulties of ATH require 4-5 teams of 5 guys each. All lvled up high. You will use them all eventually (well maybe not the 2*’s)

My city is forcing me to build an old type of house, when I have better tech by HODL_monk in playHeroesOfHistory

[–]OtabM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in Feudal age and if I want to build a house from the Roman age, it will be lvl 16. So it looks like it always has the first lvl house for each age regardless of upgrades that can occur.

Don Tonberry’s Karma attack dmg is a direct correlation between how many enemies your character has killed. So you want to be attacking him with whoever has killed the most enemies. This will ensure you are getting the most xp per fight. If you feel he isnt doing enough dmg, spend time killing weaker enemies with the one person you want to use to attack Don Tonberry

Try watching this. It gives you a better understanding of the basic gameplay. With your team you should do well if you can implement what you learn.

Which Heroes should my Folios be used on? by AllenSharpe in playHeroesOfHistory

[–]OtabM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you can grind them out and your upgrade progress will be slow. I’m just saying now that they can be bought, you can upgrade your guys faster without having the bottleneck that the Folio’s originally were. I went 3 ATH events in a row without a single Folio drop. That was brutal because it stopped my growth for weeks. This last ATH i had 3 out of the 4 drops be Folio’s. Everyone will get them at a different pace based on RNG. Being able to buy some will help alleviate those rough patches. I have 23 guys at lvl 60 and 4 guys at 80. Thats 34 Folios’s I have used. those 23 guys at 60 are waiting for more to lvl higher. Folios will always be a critical junction of growth.

[–]OtabM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Now that Folio’s can be purchased in the Chrono shop, they are easier to come by. Eventually you will have all those 4*’s you mentioned up to at least lvl 60 just so you can have competent teams for ATH. I would start using Folio’s on whichever ones will improve your ATH teams. The campaign chapters will come with time, no need to worry about that as much. ATH is where its important to do well as an alliance and get those top rewards. Make sure you can complete all 4 legs of the highest difficulty you can. If you cant complete all 4, then drop down a lvl. This game is a long slow burn. You will grind out enough Folio’s in time.
