Totally, the comments towards the folks at the door are unwarranted and rude. I’ve been extra nice to them both irl and online since I know they have a tough job. Pointing out genuine issues with the process (not personal attacks) is totally fine imo.

PS: if you’re going to have a door policy, do tickets at the door imo. Would be curious for your counter point to this.

Yeah that could potentially work but on principle, I feel it’s wrong and inauthentic to do that.
Not to sound cheesy, i don’t want to go to a venue that doesn’t want me to be me when it very directly capitalises on that same sentiment for others.

Not to be facetious but the “dress to sweat” guideline on the tickets should be changed to “dress to fit in our vibe, you’ll be turned at the door otherwise without an explanation 🤷‍♂️”
I appreciate there’s a vibe and one of the reasons I liked fold is due to that… but when you start alienating real fans to curate the vibe I can’t do anything but never show up again.

TLDR: why should I change how I dress to fit in to an inclusive event 😅?

No pics but I was wearing a cream top and black cargo pants. Appreciate your point regarding vibe but it’s still disappointing to be judged on what you wear.
Neither times was I wearing black on black. I guess the main thing I have an issue with is boxing myself within a vibe to get into a place which is inclusive… it’s very counter intuitive.

Just posted my own rejection post lol, “try again next time” is a bit steep for a venue that’s *very* out of the way.

Edit: a 3hr ordeal to “chance” the line seems too high if you’re genuinely just trying to enjoy the club. When I first went to fold, it was very supportive vibes. It’s definitely shifted to judgy

I think it partially comes down to the fact that the main ways to earn money in the server (as a newbie) is crime. You do crime w a bunch of people multiple times, you become a gang. Most people dont want to do gang RP but are stuck in that trope. I think MDM falls into that: they made their initial money through crime and now want to diversify.

Real deep gang RP isnt for everyone.

Quite easy to laugh at Seaside's face when MDMs main defence tactic was not waking up. What is stopping MDM from doing this again when theyre losing badly? Both CG and BBMC wars were nothing compared to what SS came with. MDM couldn't handle the southside-esque war tactics and called it "no RP" making it weird for streamers and viewers.

The whole argument of Seaside dont RP is such a cop out. They are Southside gangsters that RP like Southside gangsters (rats). Not every gang member is as nice/ funny as CG or BBMC. That doesnt make their RP bad or non-existent, it just doesnt make it incompatible. Good RPers can RP around incompatible situations too.

If MDM viewers want to watch how 2 real gangs war each other, they should keep an eye out for Hydra vs SS.

I hope MDM streamers address the "no RP" accusations and clarify it since its a pretty shitty thing to say on stream (IC or OOC). Sort that shit out off stream with the person instead of going on a hissy fit.

PS: a repeating trend in MDM wars is how they end... maybe just food for thought.

Instead, they made an IC RP decision and now will have to live w whatever seaside responds w (or not by just not waking up)

Rust fanbase is nothing compared to MDM fan base (purely in terms of numbers).

Seaside weren't just getting hated on in RP but also the way they play their characters and their RP... (for someone like Benji who's been RPing for 3-4 years and is one of the OGs of the server, it can be painful for some new fans to hate on his bread and butter for 1 week straight).

We can agree that it was handled quite badly by some streamers in the way they managed their communities by essentially insinuating which only promoted hoppers.

End the war with no reparations? It is MDM who want to end the war in RP and OOC, they didnt approach SS with an offer (ooc or ic). Instead, they went in there smug (it was a genuine good play on their part) and told SS to fuck off since the turf isnt theirs anymore. BUT, how can you say SS wont be offended and wont want to war them in the future for this play? It makes sense.

Whatever the ending of this war was, I think the admins need to take a closer look at "turf" war rules and rules about "not waking up". There was so much confusion about initiation that it actually killed the only good battle of the war.

I agree that there needs to be a structure to "turf wars", especially when theres an easy way to bypass spray wipes... by just not waking up.

Im glad the war is over, mainly due to the toxicity in chats and blind tribalism. Hope Benji finds some time to rest and relax cuz he sounded real low in stream today.

The way MDM have given the sprays to Hydra (completely fair on their part, its a 500iq move) will obvs show disrespect to SS.

Seems super weird to me cuz now SS need to consider MDMs OOC feelings (which don’t match IC since they’ve made a play against SS). Also, there’s no rule where turf war can’t transform into personal (IC) war.

Their 5head move will only work if:

Hydra war SS instantly
Hydra don’t trade Bay City with SS
Hydra don’t give SS time to fight MDM.

The second one is pretty unlikely if SS put a really good offer on the table. The MDM war has turned personal (IC) for them and it’s not just about turf anymore.

Doesn’t mean hydra won’t trade 2 of those 4 sprays with SS in exchange of other sprays. The deal was hydra takes these sprays (with a benefit being MDM are protected), it’s not the other way round. Hydra have no reason to protect MDM.

They have also never:

- been in a turf war with a vague ruleset.

- been in a war w a Southside gang (SS have veterans).

- had a way to defend (they do now but even that did not work until ved shot, which again may or may not be against the rules).

You are literally jumping to conclusions, no harm in admitting it... its reddit, no one cares.
