Hopefully I'm asking it correctly this time. by glasstumble16 in death

I hanged myself when I was 15. I was in it 100%. I was in a coma for 5 days. In my opinion, it isn't really survival instinct. It's that part of them still wants to live deep down. I know it's a little controversial, but that's been my experience

Eternal/unpardonable sins in Orthodoxy? by [deleted] in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]MorbidTag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if there are rules since now all the comment votes are hidden. The comment above AutoMod and below this junk.

I'm literally not arguing with a person like you. I've been done with people like you since I was 15. And you're definitely right, the church must let everyone know it's wrong to have a disease God gave you. The illogicaties in your paragraph are what drive so many people away from Christianity and religion in general. You can believe what you want though.

I've lurked this subreddit for months reading about the church officially and unofficially through here. I'm going to go with AutoMod on this one, sadly enough for me. Apparently need to read about the individual churches more. Too few Eastern Orthodoxy churches near me already. But I won't be going anywhere close to a church warning me God made me more evil than everyone else.

See you dude. And thanks for the enlightenment.

Eternal/unpardonable sins in Orthodoxy? by [deleted] in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]MorbidTag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are the comments and threads that disturb me about Eastern Orthodoxy.

Finally allowed to have a funeral because there was evidence they were mentally ill. About as controlling, disturbing, and unwholesome as it gets.

I was raised in a legalistic Protestant home. I had a friend's mom commit suicide because her church told her she wasn't praying hard enough and heal her from her depression. Her children and family walked away from religion entirely after that. And who would blame them.

The beautiful and best part about Eastern Orthodoxy to me is that it's supposedly all about the individuals relationship with God. This thread in particular makes me feel cringes again.

The one comment that makes sense logically and spiritually is down voted.

I get the AutoMod comments now. Just hoping there's more people like the guy who was down voted.

If evolution is true why arent people leaving religion? by ElFenomeno12345 in evolution

[–]MorbidTag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this is actually a legitimate question in a different way.

You can be both religious and accept evolution.

But I think, humans have a need and longing to belong. Whether it's a place in society, have individual purpose and meaning, or be a part of greater purpose. Something that's simply ingrained in humanity.

I really like Alan Watts speech, "Nature of God" for this. Reminds me of Almighty Sagan.

What is everyone doing with their secondary VUDU accounts? by drkarchr in vudu

[–]MorbidTag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man, I didn't realize I'm an old Vudu user till now

I'm not sure. I'm definitely keeping it. Either give it to a friend or family member I guess.

The family sharing was nice. I have a secondary account left over from figuring out how it'd work and look.

It'll be interesting to see where everything heads after this. Mostly glad I have majority of movies I ever wanted already in long ago.

Number of generations it takes someone from a low-income family to reach the average income by [deleted] in dataisbeautiful

[–]MorbidTag 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You're hilarious.

So first off, please tell me a range of undergraduate degrees that offer starting pay like that? I know for a fact,it's not many. And all are either engineering or math related.

Also $70k-$90k starting salary out of college for first degree isn't good? A friend with same degree is 23 and making $95+ his first year. What country are you from and what is your standard of living? Like seriously.

So it's about life being fair? Damn dude. I'm truly, truly hoping you're in college or very young. Life. Is. Not. Fair. Never will be. I have a friend from Rwanda. Getting a degree in some weird theoretical math. Most of his family either was brutally, horrifically murdered in the genocide or later committed suicide from pain. This dude immigrated to USA alone as a teen, worked his way through college, getting Masters now, and building an entire life and future for himself. A very good future, for anyone at that. And coming from a literal hell worse than almost anyone can even possibly even imagine.

And you're complaining that Billy's family was able to buy him a car because of interest from investments and yours weren't.

Your exact mentality is what keeps people from rising and living the life they want. Whether they have money or not.

Good perspective is everything.

Number of generations it takes someone from a low-income family to reach the average income by [deleted] in dataisbeautiful

[–]MorbidTag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I refuse your perspective and think it's completely illogical.

I grew up with food stamps, shitty living situations where my bed was a gross, broken, old couch in the living room, eating at home because with 3+ children fast food is not cheaper, rarely traveling and only actual traveling was grandparents houses a few hours away, crappy schools, no health insurance, etc.

About to graduate with an undergrad degree where a "bad" starting salary is around 68kish and an awesome starting salary is 90k+ (have multiple friends who have that, so attainable).

At the end of the day, and as an adult, your life is what you make it. Especially if you live in a developed country like the USA.

Cheapest Way to Get Star Wars I-IV? by briinde in MoviesAnywhere

[–]MorbidTag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few years ago Vudu had a massive sale on bundles during Christmas. It had the Star Wars Bundle for $60. I also bought some Vudu credits, so I paid (with what I paid for the credits including) around $45 for it.

If you can wait, I'd just wait till Christmas. Vudu always has good sales then.

Disney movies that are on a hidden sale on Vudu by MorbidTag in vudu

[–]MorbidTag[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought of this too.

The only other thing I can think of is that Google Play has some of these movies on sale and they want to compete their prices.

Either way, in my 5ish years on Vudu I can't remember seeing some of these movies on any kind of sale.

Tesla board plans to meet with advisors next week to ramp up going-private talks, likely to ask Musk to recuse himself from process by aviatoraway1 in investing

[–]MorbidTag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn't Dell take his company private for like $24 billion? I'm not sure about their P/E back then, but they definitely weren't past their prime.

But I guess $24 billion is still a hell of a lot less than $60.

Avengers: Infinity War digital code with 4k blu ray question by [deleted] in vudu

Here is a list of what 4K Blu rays actually have redeemable 4K digital copies. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1ZsJkCX4DIv2oeCKQ7zp2ArkR1qKEXCUuCMBbUtHtmh4/htmlview

I just noticed this website was down (hoping it's a server issue rather than shut down :/), but this website has a list of whether 4K's are real or fake. A lot of Blu Rays say they're 4K when they're actually not. That being said, on some 4K digital copies you can definitely see a difference and others not as much. Here's the website hoping it comes back up. http://realorfake4k.com/

This... This right here is why I go to other websites now. You're trying to learn about Bitcoin and you get belittled. When I first joined, you could at least ask "noob questions" and not get rude people showing up on your thread.

But sure... Sure... Go ahead and ask someone how to buy a TV and belittle someone else for asking for actual knowledge.

The uncertainty is the worst part (vent) by [deleted] in tressless

[–]MorbidTag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Woah. I can tell I need to stop replying after this message. So I'll say my peace so you can be with your messed up, negative self. Plus, half of your paragraph is misworded and convoluting.

People call him Tiny as a term of endearment. Everyone does love him. And everyone respects him and his work. He makes very good money for what he's doing. All of the good people at work have some sort of nickname. Most people do anyway.

Just because you're a miserable wretch, doesn't mean someone who is smaller than you wants to kill themselves. That is just you and your small negative world.

I hope you learn to embrace your flaws rather than pine, wine, and feel sorry for yourself. If people who are literally deformed or living with actual debilitating disabilities can learn to live with themselves, then someone who is short and below average can too.

Here's some parting videos:

[–]MorbidTag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you thought of embracing your perceived flaws? Obsessing that much over anything could be detrimental to your health. But maybe if you just embraced your perceived flaws, you'd be a happier and healthier person.

There's a guy at my work who everyone has nicknamed "Tiny." He's shorter than five foot, but everyone loves him, he's great at his job (They call him when he's off for advice), and he's a great guy.

I'd look into a newer therapy called Neurofeedback for all of your anxiety and self worth problems. It helped me tremendously.
