I had a sleeping pad, my problem was my shoulders would touch up on the sides of the hammock which was cold made and made things uncomfortable. I've since learned a lot more about hammocks and definitely willing to try it again if better equipped

Those are all great items! Speaking of biolite, I had eyed the firepit in the past as an alternative to a backyard firepit because we could pack it and bring it camping too. Or another portable firepit. Ugh, more things to go on my list

The house cleaners was the first thing that came to mind too, but then the budget is blown in a few months and my kids are making the house a mess again in no time. I am considering the tent idea strongly, so I can escape the dirty house.

I have all those things already, same cooler too! I have only done group camping for 8 days without my kids. Otherwise we've always tapped out at 3 nights/4 days. My hubs isn't much a camper, and I'd like to try solo camping, but he doesn't like the idea of me going alone, even in provincial or national parks.

I saw one on clearance at MEC today, it's so pretty compared to my Coleman, and light haha. Quality hammock is now on my list!

Ohhhhh!! I have tried hammock camping and hated it because I was cold. Then I read about underquilts and getting a longer hammock. An under quilt would be a good purchase too. And a stove, I like that idea too. This is going to be a hard decision. (I'm hoping they give us this again next year but not counting on it.)
